Donna, Doughboy, and the Pirates

I'll give you this.
He would have had a huge penalty as he was climbing over the side of the boat, so the injury may have been worse. Everyone else is hurt as bad as they are, the pirate is worse off than you think. Yenni, though she is non-combatant, is ale to shove him and he goes overboard.
You are well away from the ship and can reach the other vessel in short order. They had been worried that the ships following them could be pirates (there are three), and your tale (if you share it) confirms their fears. They tend to your wounds and serve you some hot cider. Their captain, call him Sailor Jerry , he visits the three of you to have a chat. With him is a special guest he is transporting to Barcelona, a woman named Isolde, wife of an important craftsman (Antoine of Verditius currently at Andorra), with a wealthy patron (House Tremere funded the passage).

If she catches the name of the woman's husband, she will ask if she could speak with her in private.

The guy is covered in tattoos. Greetings, I am Captain Jerry. Sailor Jerry to my friends. This is my ship the Rico Runner. I had been worried that those were potentially pirates. They usually travel solo, but small groups have become more frequent.
My manners! I apologize. My guest is Madam Isolde from Hungary. Her husband is a craftsman of some sort, supposedly genius. His patrons paid me a handsome sum to escort her safely to Barcelona. What was his name? Antoine of the Verditis family I think.
And you are Donna? Who are your two companions?

Technical correction - she's only his fiancée at present. Of course, it may be a polite fiction that she's his wife, as that would be more proper.

"I am Donna, this is Yanni, and his sister Yenni. You said of the Verditius family, in Barcelona? Yes, I'm afraid to say that they are pirates, but if I could speak with this woman in private, we might be able to arrange some help in repelling these pirates, if you think that would be useful."

Go for it

Good luck with that. She's a native Hungarian and speaks only Magyar. I could probably handwave French 1, off Antoine, if it helps. Otherwise, it's going to be sign-language and drawings

Perhaps we can presume she has a handmaiden? A Hungarian old woman who speaks a smattering of common trade languages suchas Lingua Fancia, Italian, Catalan, and such.

I'll buy that, sure.

Then run with it

"Madame Isolde, I understand you are married to an Antoine of Verditious, and you are traveling by way of Barcellona? I have had some business with many of the Verditious familly" she emphasizes family so those in the know will realize she is in on the fiction. "and other of their associates, and I would like to know if he left you any trinket of remembrance, or some way to contact him. Also from Barcelona were you planning to go on to Andorra, or elsewhere?"

Through her interpreter, Isolde replies.

"Not married. Not yet. But yes, Antoine is my betrothed. Pardon my caution, but why should I tell you my travel plans, or about my possessions?"

"To any great detail you should not, what I am hoping you have is some way to contact him, and best yet if you are aware of it. That in and of itself would be of great help in this situation, for by dawn we will be set upon by pirates. If he has given you something as I have mentioned, and you can get ahold of him, then he and his associates may yet come to our aid in time. Best yet is if he does reside in Andorra, where a certain Roberto of Flambeau lives, whom these pirates have sworn a blood oath against because he has thwarted them so many times in the past, then both your fiancé and Roberto might arrive in time to aid us."

((Pardon the delay here - I hadn't considered if Isolde would have anything like that. Plotwise it'd help, and it seems reasonable; but I would need to run the numbers to see if Antoine ever had the time. And I'm a bit taken up with packing for holiday atm. I will try to figure something out))

You do no have any time. If you have not statted up Isolde by now and have not already dedicated lab time to making items for her, it is too late now.
But I do have a solution for you. This is one of those Easter Eggs I was speaking of in another place on another subject
Donna hears a sound behind her.
meow
kaff Ahem. Hey, I'm looking for Felecia and no one seems to know where she is. She wouldn't happen to be with you, would she? Maybe you know where she iz hiding out?

"No, she isn't, wait... we need to get a message to Roberto and Antoine, I think he is new at the covenant. Tell them Isolde is about to be attacked by pirates who have sworn a blood oath against Roberto. I'm not sure exactly where we are... can you take one of those connection things from here to them?"

Hwat? I wuz just looking fer...
I mean, I suppose I can. And I can also...
hold on...

Cidito concentrates for a moment
Roerto is taking a bath and is getting ready for bet. He iz complaining it is after midnight. Iz it an emergency? He can be here in a half-hour he sez. Not sure who this other guy you mention iz. I can bring him a connection if he is at the keep. Might have to wake him up. Hwat's going on anyhoo?

Long story short, yes, it is an emergency, we are about to be attacked by pirates, Isolde here is Antoine of Verditius' Fiance, and we also have a really fantastic baker and his sister I was hoping to take as an apprentice swordsmith to save. Oh, and apparently it's their uncle who took us prisoner and is about to attack this ship.

Cidito concentrates. Ten minutes later Roberto appears (teleports). Lightly armored, hair still wet, and cranky.
[color=red]What the hell is going on?
When Roberto arrives, Cidito wanders away around the corner and is now wandering around the keep at Arans, Andorra. Looking for Antoine, he has no issues about waking him up.

Antoine is easily locatable wherever his digs are, and easily wakeable. He hasn't slept well - bad dreams about boats.

Isolde, in danger? If only I could have got to her in time to accompany her. Can you get me to her? I don't know any teleportation spells.
