Effects of Bound Magic on permanent structures

Salve, soldales! Long-time lurker with a question that's bugging me.

Magus with Bound Magic flaw casts Conjuring the Mystic Tower to make his covenant in - magus then dies - what happens to the tower?

If (as I suspect) the tower ceases to exist, what happens to the CONTENTS of the tower, which weren't created by mystical means? And what happens to the inhabitants of the tower?

Are you referring to Bound Magic minor flaw from HoH:TL p.108?

If so, my interpretation is that all magic ends upon your death but as the Mystic Tower is no longer magical after the ritual is completed, it is one of the few magical traces that a Magi with that flaw will leave behind him. If you wish it to crumble to dust there are a couple ways.

1- Make the he casts to summon the tower an Until duration effect
2- Give the Magi an extra flaw such as Major Curse (To be erased from history after death)

My view is that a curse/malediction that doesn't apply until you're dead is minor at most. And possibly a minor flaw for those around you, if you've done healing rituals on them. (So that all the wounds reopen when you die - that's consistent with the Mystic Tower vanishing, right?)

True but you can make it as nasty as needed

You Father was a priest of Ginnungagap who betrayed his faith and sided with the Vitkir's. At the moment of his great betrayal, Ginnungagap cursed his line to be erased from the holy scrolls. You do not remember having siblings but you sometimes have flashes of events that never occurred... or have they?

  • People with the vision see you as empty of a past, present & future. Some will run in terror, others will think you are demonic
  • Powers like Sense Holy & Unholy detect you as un-holy
  • The Fey fear you as an undoer of stories. This can be a boon if you try to intimidate the Fey. You are one of the few to roam the earth the Fey truly fear.
  • People that interact with you are at risk of gaining a minor curse where part of their life is shallow.
  • You suffer -3 in all social interactions that would leave a permanent mark such as being the celebrant at a wedding or Initiating someone into a mystery.
  • Upon your death, all that you have done will be undone. All who remember you will forget. All traces of your existence erased and your soul doomed to the void.

Ginnungagap is a Kosmokrator that had an aspect present in earthly form. It might be the only path to lifting the curse.

That Curse flaw is fun to create.... like creating new spell effects :slight_smile:

Yep. Just the same as would happen with a Sun duration tower at sunset.

Its a ritual Creo spell that uses Vis, therefore its a Mundane tower after the spell has been cast.
