Euthymios ex Jerbiton

So it turns out I forgot a minor virtue and ended up sort of redoing most of my character sheet, sorry about the delay. Concept hasn't changed much, but I'm making the character a Physician who studied at Salerno, since it's a very famous medical institution in the area. As much as things are in the area of the saga, anyway. I think probably the Baccalaureate was from Bologna, and then further study in medicine at Salerno. I also think that this study would have technically gone on while he was still apprenticed to the maga who was his parens, but I don't really want to try and do a breakdown year by year of exactly when Euthymios was where more than 10 years ago. 3. The body part remains numb until the lost
Fatigue levels are recovered.

This concentrated herbal infusion is an
antidote to the bite of any serpent. If consumed
immediately following the bite, then
the wound (which must be a Heavy wound or

(ArM5, page 180), no wound is suffered.

This cool bandage made of mallow and
cucumber soothes burn wounds, and will
heal any Light Wound caused by fire over
the course of a week.

Soporific Sponge
Theriac Level 15
Potency: Mighty
This Theriac is one of the most precious
secrets of the School of Salerno. It combines
opium, mandrake, hemlock and hyoscyamus
(all horrible poisons if used wrongly) into a
hypnotic aid that is soaked into a sponge. This,
when held against the mouth and nose for a few
minutes, causes deep slumber. The patient is reduced
to the Unconscious Fatigue Level, and
will remain that way for two hours. When the
patient comes around, the Fatigue Penalty he
suffers is subtracted from any Wound or Disease
Penalty. A surgeon who operates on a patient
who has been stupefied with this theriac has a
+2 to his surgery roll and rolls 2 fewer botch
dice (this can reduce botch dice to zero).

So, Euthymios was the son of a Percamenarius born with the Gentle Gift. Had he been born to a family less tangentially connected to academics and mages, he might have never learned he had the Gift at all, but a maga of House Jerbiton was looking for high quality vellum(tends to be quite hard to get your hands on) and came across him. She offered a very generous sum to take him and have him educated at an actual university to be her apprentice, so his family did not have many objections to him leaving. Euthymios barely remembers them, but the next 18 years he both served as her apprentice and attended both the University of Bologna and Salerno, graduating as Baccalaureus from Bologna and learning the physician's arts at Salerno. To his parens irritation, he never really integrated himself terribly well into academic society, preferring to spend time in the lab on his own work, investigating the effects of magical auras and Warping on any number of things. So far, he hasn't made much actual progress towards any sort of breakthrough, but he thinks that if he can find a suitably unusual or powerful aura in which to perform experiments that he can make real progress in advancing Hermetic theory, perhaps even enough to change the Order forever. He is on Malta to seek out auras like this, although he may have recently heard about the sale of a large number of texts as well.

(Probably not relevant right now: His parens is an Intellego specialist, also with the Gentle Gift, and is something of a social webspinner, which has left her annoyed at the way Euthymios has turned out, although not actually AT him. She just wanted someone taking more after her.)

this time I am seeing 10 points in flaws and 9 points in virtues.You are not required to take additional virtues (remember your house virtue is free) but I wanted to point this out in case you wanted to.
There is also a question as to how you have artes liberals at 6 at age 25, abilities are capped at 5 below age 30 for starting characters without specific virtues (such as affinity). this cap also applies to Latin.

Okay, should be fixed, added Inventive Genius and moved the xp from the 6s into the elemental Forms.

at gauntlet I get 457 points spent on abilities- it should be 45 for early childhood, 75 for before apprenticeship if he is 25 at gauntlet, 90 for baccelaureat, 50 for physician of Solerno and 300 points for an apprenticeship with good teacher. That means he should have 560 xp in arts and abilities, which leaves him 130 short at gauntlet.

Wouldn't that be a discrepancy of 43 experience? Apprenticeship is 240 xp unless I took skilled parens or something, I think.

Okay I'm coming up with 45 xp unspent, and I think I've figured out why, I was assuming the 90 xp from Baccalaureus meant you didn't get any other xp in those 3 years? So if I actually DO get standard xp for those years on top of what Baccalaureus gives, that would be 45 xp I didn't know I had. If I do get that xp I'll put it into Finesse 2 and Penetration 3, with specialties in precision and Vim respectively.

I'm getting:

120+60+30+60=270, which would be 9 years, not 8

I really thought I was better at basic math than this. I'm sorry about taking up so much of your time with my inability to add numbers together.

I've added the Penetration/Finesse on, and adjusted age to 34 to account for that being 9 years rather than 8. If I don't get that 45 xp from the 3 years of Baccalaureus I'll take the Penetration/Finesse back off. Is there anything else I've screwed up?

It occurs to me after posting that that it could be taken as sarcastic and I want to be clear that it wasn't I'm just really embarrassed by how many mistakes I made.

This takes care of everything, I believe I can get this person added shortly after they choose a site for the covenant.
