Having trouble find the ability that would allow speech with faeries. I have a mage with a fairy companion so it would make sense if he would understand it.

In general, Faeries speak the language of the people they talk to. They thrive on interaction with humans and thus have their own ways of making themselves understood.
Basically: unless the role of the Faerie is specifically that of a stranger from a far away land or a monster, it will be able to communicate with most everyone it needs to

Quite specifically, there is an ability called faerie speech which lets the faerie who has itspeak the language of whoever talksto it.
