Also, imho also for everything you put into the Bond that you want, you should put something into the Bond your Familiar wants.
And then be as responsive to their requests as you want them to be for yours!
That is I think the way RAW tries to make it but after trying it a few times, it doesn't really work in game. Even if you HR that either party can activate the bond effects, it is still better to have the familiar assist to create the object or learn the effect yourself. Most of the effects that go into the bond (personal effects) are utilitarian to make you bigger/smaller or to have an extra sense and such. When you need the power, having to rely on communication with the significant other is an extra step and too often, one that is not available because of hostile Aegis or Regio travelling or you being Unconscious or aura suppressing the communication effect, etc. The healing bandage minor object can be used on you by the grog next to you even if you are incap in a regio... You can also sell it, make many of them, use on other people, etc. Same with invisibility cap or flying boots, etc.
Having a familiar works but investing effects in the bond needs some love to be more worthwhile. Maybe allow the effects to bend/break some hermetic limits such as allowing effects to use the familiars might to power effects such as healing or other unique things.

Invested devices cannot hold ritual effects -- but there are research projects which will allow the creation of ritual devices. Does a mage with the ability to create such 'ritual devices' also gain enough understanding of enchantment to allow ritual-effect enchantments in their familiar bond? The bond-enchantment process being described as 'just like enchanting an invested device' would seem to imply that this is the case.
Or, would this be a separate (easier or harder) research project?
