BACKGROUND
Haestus was the Gifted apprentice of an Ex Misc hedge wizard inducted into the order under a “Join or Die” edict. His parens, Galt ex Miscellanea, never amounted to much hermetically speaking, but left him his heritage of Craft Magic and a deep respect for the human and non-human crafters of the world. Very early on in his apprenticeship Haestus met and befriended Dobran, a Beaver of virtue and craft muse. Dobran quickly saw the potential in the youth and agreed to partner with him, whereupon Haestus worked diligently in the arts of Rego and Animal to gain the needed power. As the years progressed, Dobran told Haestus the tales of lost Atlantis, focusing on the Atlanteans cunning crafting, both magical and mundane.
Shortly after gauntlet, Galt passed away due to old age and Haestus became the Wise One of his village, much as his Parens had served prior. Due to his increased Hermetic sophistication, Haestus maintained stronger ties to the order, including maintaining lose ties to a covenant and attending Tribunal to buy and sell, covering the niche market of items too small or insignificant to be dominated by Verditius. At one such tribunal, he met Magnus and discovered their shared passion of the Tales of Lost Atlantis, and Haestus quickly agreed to join the decades-long preparation to return the continent thought lost forever.

Keep in mind that base 4 moves you very slowly. And being as it's a spell and not a power, I'm going to say that when you lose concentration, the spell ends and you fall. None of that "the power still holds the character aloft indefinitely" stuff. If it were diameter or sun or moon duration, sure. But not concentration. In a Concentration duration spell, once concentration ends, so does the spell.

I believe a level 10 version of MtDS only works on spells up to an equal level, i.e., 10.

A magus having a Gifted child is amazingly rare - almost unheard of barring special circumstances.

Also, I don't think Haestus has the Craft skill level (or effective Craft skill level for magic crafting) to maintain superior equipment and superior tools.

Put that way, it does sound kinda hinky. I'll rework it to be more conventional.

I re-read the spell and I believe you are correct. I think I was basing this off the effect, not the actual spell. I think I'll just delete this and use the levels elsewhere.

I can rework this into something else, it's not central to the concept.

It should be more clear once I post his development. At the end of cycle 1 (same time frame as the posted lab) he will have Dex 3, Craft 3+1, Faerie Blood +1, Essential Virtue (Dextrous Smith) 3, Excellent +2 tool, Puisant +2, and Granted Puissance in (specific activity in smithing)+3 for a craft total of 18.

In order to achieve this in cycle 1, he will need to bind his familiar, get enough vis to transform and craft a really nice tool. If he can't achieve the transformation in cycle 1 he will be down to a craft total of 16. He will also need to spend a season establishing a workshop.

For ReCo flying I'm probably going to use Base 15, +2 Sun. That allows for fast movement, concentration to alter the effect, and a long duration. Ends in a level 25 spell if made as Personal.
I called it By Will Alone - when I write it up originally.

I'm going for a touch version of that spell for greater utility.

I'm not sure how much of a limitation this will really be in practice. Most adventures will take place during the day when he has no penalty. Really, it will just make my life difficult by forcing me to make sure that some adventures take place at night.

I'll pick another flaw, then, there's plenty to choose from. I chose the reputations simply because I thought they'd fit the character, although they'd be better at the end of the cycles, not the beginning. They are not important and can be deleted if you wish.

No, now that you mention it, after six cycles it's likely some of you (all of you) would have some kind of reputation.

Makes a lot of sense that each would have various reps. Perhaps we should have up to 6 points in reps to represent the cycles, split how we like?
So a 3x reps of 2 is ok, as is a 5 and a 1.

Another option would be that we explain a few of the Seasons to link them to reps? Backstory is needed anyway so it's probably not additional effort.

Wool knitted work glove, fingerless. The glove is made of two types of threads, one that has been infused with mercury and the other with mistletoe oil. Where the fingers join the back of the glove are four small beads, topaz, crystal, emerald and hornbeam. The back of the glove is reinforced with metal scales like those used in armor. Haestus intends to inscribe these scales with portraits, writing, seals or images to add additional possible attunements at a later date.

During Cycle 2 Haestus has a Magic Theory of 8, allowing 8 components:
