Can I get some clarification on how we will handle wards spells? I was reading the thread https://forum.atlas-games.com/t/ward-thoughts-not-going-there-i-promise/4085/1 , and now feel a mite confused.
Thanks.

Well the main issue RAW: Do wards need to penetrate?
IMHO it is slightly askew - a passive ward keeping creatures at bay needing to actively penetrate the magic resistance?
On the other hand, if you didn't need the penetration, a ward would be more powerful than designed to be.
Thus, the balance of penetrating the magic resistance for a ward's magic to even affect a creature, with the lvl of the ward to keep it at bay will be kept in this saga.

If we cast a ReVi ward against demons spontaneously with a casting total of 15, and penetration ability of 2, can we decide after rolling that the ward level is 8 and the penetration 9? It makes sense to keep the ward level and the penetration roughly equal.

Yes as mentioned in the thread that would be a fair re-distribution (unless you have chaotic magic, which takes precedence)

Puissant Terram
Initiation Script + 9 (+3 Special Time and Place; +3 Minor Ordeal; +3 Sympathetic)
The Initiate must travel to the Palatine Hill, in Rome, on October 5th, one of the three days on which the mundus was opened and enter it alone, with plenty of offerings of fruit and cereal. The Initiate must then survive inside the mundus until November 8th, when the Mystagogue opens the mundus again and frees him from the womb of the earth, the entrance to Hades. During the month in which the Initiate is trapped in the mundus he must perform a series of ritual offerings to Pluto, and live off the offerings he brought with him. He emerges with new understanding of the art of Terram, but this blessing of Pluto means he has more difficulty casting spells when he is not upon solid ground (Deleterious Circumstance: Not on solid ground).
Minor Magical Focus (Type of Metal or Stone)
Initiation Script + 9 (+3 Previous Ordeal; +3 Mystagogue Time Sacrifice; +3 Minor Ordeal)
After the first rank is attained, the Initiate is tested upon his devotion to the Order and the Code. Only those truly committed to Guernicus’ ideals can proceed. After spending a season under tutelage by the Mystagogue, a ritual is prepared in which the Initiate’s blood is mixed with metal, stone and earth powder and then drunk. The Initiate is then tested upon his devotion and if he is approved, the ritual ends with a solemn Vow to live to the Spirit of the Code and bring Justice to those who deserve it – Members of the Terram Cult of House Guernicus are famed for incorruptibility throughout the Order. The type of metal or stone used in the ritual becomes ingrained in the magus’ body and spirit, and he exerts greater influence over it. Should he break his vow however, he looses the benefit of the Minor Magical Focus until he has atoned.
Spell Binding
Initiation Script +7 (+3 Previous Ordeal; +3 Quest; +1 Initiate Time Sacrifice)
The Initiate who wishes to further his induction into the Terram Cult is told to seek and bring to justice a great criminal within the Order. Once that is complete, he is to bring back an arcane connection to the place where the criminal was found or defeated and fix it in his laboratory, then gift the Mystagogue with it. A book teaching the proper way to bind spirits and spells to containers is given to the Initiate in exchange for the stone, which he must pass along when he is gifted similarly.
Minor Hermetic Empowerment
Initiation Script +6 (+2 Previous Ordeal; +1 Initiate Time Sacrifice; +3 Initiate Great Sacrifice)
Major Geomancy
Initiation Script: +12 (+1 Previous Ordeal; +3 Special Time and Place; +6 Medium Ordeal; +2 Sympathetic)
Major Magical Focus (Metal or Stone)
Initiation Script +11 (+6 Previous Ordeal; +3 Virtue Sacrifice; +1 Initiate Time Sacrifice; +1 Initiate Sacrifice)
Here is the suggested path of advancement for the Terram Cult, as well as the Initiation Scripts.
I might fumble some with the last three still though, as I write stuff in...
Thoughts?
