Items and Penetration in auras

Hi all,
Not been on in a while. Just a quick question to refresh my memory.
I have a wand with an effect with no penetration - does it still work on people with no MR in a hostile aura (e.g. dominion)? What about a hostile aegis?

Yes.

Subject to interpretation. We handle it like spells and creature powers as in that an enchanted item used within an Aegis suffers reduced penetration (as a consequence of a low "casting total"), others take the rules more literally and require enchanted items to penetrate the Aegies even when used within it. Read the paragraph about enchanted items under the descrtiption of the Aegis of the Hearth and make up your own mind.
