Korvin ex Mercere

Greetings all. Jonathan has allowed me to join your game. I'm going to play a Mercere Creo specialist. He is meant to make things for the Redcaps and do their LR. He is not a LR specialist. He will just be good at them but not great.

Born in Harco, Korvin's gift was discovered early much to the excitement of his parents and others in the house. He was raised on tales of the founder and the duty to the house. His talent with Creo had many in the house talking about the bloodline of the founder was very strong in him. Not long after puberty, he found that there were other expectations for someone with a strong gift in the House. Over the years he has sired 16 children ( that he knows of). Three of which have turned out to be gifted. This has only increased the amount of attention he gets.

After his Gauntlet, he spend 6 years at Harco refining his Arts. The seventh year, the year he would spend as a Redcap, was an eye opener for Korvin. He had been sheltered at Harco. always the golden boy. During his apprenticeship, he was not given many duties as a Redcap. Mostly he and his master would visit major Mercere houses and would do much of their traveling via portals. This time he was given a group of covenants in the Greater Alps Tribunal and was able to travel. Most of the time he was accompanying by a senior Redcap to teach him various routes and skills he would need to survive but it was a thrill to be able to talk to other folk and see how they lived. And more interestingly for him, he got to meet several of the children that he had fathered.

Remember go 30 years post gauntlet. 40 xp per year. If you don't you'd be joining Mons Electi at a junior level.

Quick question on the experience. If he has a apprentice or does longevity rituals, does this take seasons away?

Yes. The premise is that you've been held back from developing (primarily because of learning spells as an experience point expenditure). Your story reasonf or limitation can be different, spending time as a Redcap, periodically could've slowed you down.

And I'd like to limit apprentices starting play to 3 years of apprenticeship. I'd also prefer if you could find another PC to take the apprentice as a character, so that there is some negotiation going on to build a character. If no one is interested, I'll do it.

Are you familiar with how to tweak MetaCreator to do this? Set the experience for 40 per year, advance the character to give thos XPs as unspent, etc?

It is Metadata output but just at gauntlet. I was trying to age him last night. i took into account the time as a RedCap and just spent exp on skills he would use. i also took out seasons for his own LR and making some for others. I was thinking of having an apprentice who had just been gauntleted ( for story ) so I needed to figure that out.

But I need to go back and redo the aging again.

An apprentice for story reasons is fine. I wanted to avoid an apprentice close to gauntlet at the start of play, and characters using the apprentice to boost their lab totals during character creation.

Havin an apprentice would also have a tendency to slow you down if you didn't focus on lab work and were itinerant like a Redcap. You're now at a place where you can settle down and study. The idea is that you were held back, whether that was held back by external or internal forces is up to you. A magical Mercere might be focused on the House and the Order and neglect himself a bit, you may have been told to refocus on yourself, so you can better help the House at a later date, which is how you're coming to Mons Electi.

Metadata question. What is the variable or function to check the age experience. I had found it once upon a time but can not now

Configuration option under the Change heading. In the window there's an Experience Points section, change Post-Appr to 40.

Thanks! I'm amazed I got kind of close with just some research on the "mythical" weasel. It is a Weasel of Virtue so I'm expecting it to be a bit better. The Quickness +4 was based on her size.

My understanding is that it kills a basilisk with it's smell since it is the same family as a skunk. That is why I have the bad smell power.

Yeah, once I saw the Strength score for the weasel in The Medieval Bestiary, I figured it was probably a -8. Before that, I wasn't sure if it was a 2 or a 0 or negative something. S'all good.

There is already a scribe in build points (no reason that there can't be two, except, to my knowledge, he hasn't been utilized in 1220) from another character. Also, the silver is unnecessary. Money isn't a huge consideration in this saga, because of the Legendary Wealth level of the covenant.
