Magic rules ?

So I am thinking about making a mercurian magic magi, and was thinking ,because of the added danger of casting ritual magic, of taking Cautious Sorcerer...well it says it's used for sponteneous or formulaic magic...then I looked up mastery and it says formuliac....

So you can't master a ritual spell?
And Cautious Sorcerer really only werks with formuliac and spon. magic?

Is there ANYTHING you can do to improve Ritual spells and the tendecy to botch?

I think ritual is always formulaic and vis needed, but formulaic aren't all ritual.
So IMO, mastery and cautious apply.

I agree. Rituals are a type of Formulaic spell.
