To kick off this thread, I'll start with Atlas Games' announcement of the release of Magical Kitties Save the Day itself under the Open License.
MAGICAL KITTIES RPG BECOMES OPEN LICENSE, WITH GIVEAWAY LAUNCH!

Proctor, MN – 07/01/26 – The beloved Magical Kitties Save the Day roleplaying game launches under an open license today, and is celebrating with a special giveaway that includes almost $2700 of prizes.
Atlas Games®, the publishers of the popular Magical Kitties Save the Day RPG, announced today the release the core Rulebook and all the Magical Kitties sourcebooks under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-SA 4.0)
Now Magical Kitties fans can release their own material, whether for free or paid, explicitly for the game. Atlas Games has also created a new Magical Kitties Open License logo, to let fans identify their work as made for Magical Kitties Save the Day.
To encourage fans to contribute by releasing their own Magical Kitties Open License material, Atlas Games is ALSO hosting a special giveaway for the launch. The publisher will give a FREE digital Magical Kitties package worth $90, which includes ALL the products in the line, to the first 30 people to post a Magical Kitties release on DriveThruRPG.com, by July 31, 2026. Giveaway Requirements:
- Releases must take place in and showcase the Magical Kitties setting
- They must be original work without legal entanglements (e.g., using copyrighted material from outside the Magical Kitties products)
- Release your work under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
- Display the Magical Kitties Open License logo and its new legal statement.
- Put your release up on DriveThruRPG.com, and get approval (takes 3 days or more)
- Post a link & description in Magical Kitties Open License Announcements on the Atlas Games Forum
- Post everything by July 31, 2026
This open license release will allow players to freely share, adapt, and build content that's explicitly made for the Magical Kitties Save the Day RPG, and sell their creations.
