Can you have a magical object that targets a thing seperate from the object & then have that thing leave the range of the invested object maintain the effect on the said thing using the SUN +environmental trigger +1 use (as in p.99 of the Core rule book under Constant effect)?
The Text box says it is true constant effect without any interruption (flicker)
Option A: No, at every Sunrise/Sunset, the invested object will target it's Target and fail ending the effect
Option B: Yes. As a true constant effect, the effect is being maintained so long as the invested object is functional and the effect is not dispelled or suppressed.
I would say that it could not renew the effect unless it is within range. There is no lapse in effect with the continual effect style of design however the renewal still takes place. It is just rendered seamless as it were.
Note that also if outside of range of the item that whatever effect, unless linked by a Conduit effect or some other variety of alteration/addition magic, is also unable to be controlled.
Option A is correct. This is specifically why true constant effects no longer exist, the ruling on what these constant effects are having changed. Instead they are now just repeatedly renewed. So if it's not in range, the renewal will fail.
