Meddlesome Saint: Meddling input needed.

When my players were designing their Covenant , they decided on taking Meddlesome Saint (page 23 , Cov.)

As they chose wine manufacture as one of their income sources i picked Saint Morand of Cluny.
(as i dont speak/read french , except via Google , any input from native speakers would be most helpful)

So far , except for some miraculous healing in the church , and various Divine Blessings being placed on people ,
my inspiration has been limited.
As for a Story Flaw , i know that interference is not constant.

Only one magus is unbaptised (due to faerie upbringing) but does not have the Pagan Flaw.

They have their first year of wine available.
It gives a -06 Living Conditions modifier if drunk (in moderation) for a whole year.
(-03 from the Healthy Feature Bonus and -03 from the Saints Blessing)

No-one has knowingly consorted wih demons. Though they do know that one is around taking notes of some sort.
There is a possibility that up to seven Devil Children have been sired locally.
But as a Faerie was also involved , no-one is quite sure.

I have a Tournament planned down the track , so doubtless Divine influence will be sought.

So far i have had the Saint do minor , subtle things that would let people choose Salvation.

Seems there could be more fun to be had , thus my request for Meddling ideas.

My main idea with saints is always to let them help the covenant (as in the small, local community, not as in the magi) and being shining beacons of virtue and holiness. With all the small miracles (the Magi should benefit as well) an aura will grow. Starting with over shading the magic aura on Christmas day and other very holy days, then include Sundays, then throw in some lesser holy days...

So you get a problem from having too much good being done
Conflicts of the type Good vs Good is always more fun  :smiling_imp:

I don't know if the wine they produce is stored in their covenant but in this case you could have one of the covenant folk keep or steal some wine from the holy wine during the mass or ask a priest to sanctify the wine in their cellar, provoking the appearance of a divine aura...

As for stealing the host during the communion (keeping it intact in the mouth), it seems it happend often during the middle age. For example, some superstitious people used it to "enhance" their garden, producing 'holy' carrots and lettuces...

It seems that here in France it still happens sometimes, and some people also still steal holy water from the stoup in churches in the present day.

Meddlesome Saint, that's an interesting flaw!

First, I was wondering why you chose Saint Morand. It is a local saint from Alsace, so I suppose the convenant is in that region?
Not that it matters really, except if you really aim at historical authenticity!
His feast day is June 3rd, so special event concerning the saint could be around that date.

Saint Morand made the pilgrimage to Compostella, so one idea would be to have him nudge people to make the pilgrimage.

One of Saint Morand's feat was to endure one Lent by eating only a bunch of grapes (that's why he's a patron of wine makers). Maybe in exchange for some holy mission, he could offer a source of vis to the covenant (magical grapes).

Saint Morand was also a benedictine monk. One goal he might have would be to have the covenant show more religious devotion, like having a holy office everyday (ringing bells for Vespers like in an abbey, disturbing mages in the process) or trying to have mages respect sundays by not working on that day (giving them a penalty to lab totals or source quality).

Have fun!

The saint does little wonders. Word reaches the bishop (who'd love to find a saint for political reasons), and a clerical committee is sent to investigate.

Not strictly speaking , i am using a modified version of 4th Ed Triamore.
Having a French Saint in Belgium is probably an outrage i suspect.
The 64 pages to read through for Belgian Roman Catholic Saints seemed a bit daunting.

As there is a Benedictine Monastery in the region , i figured i could make it of the Clunaic Order
and have St. Morand as the Patron Saint of the village Church.
He seemed the most apt of the wine patrons.

As sources of Divine Vis are rare , having the grapes grown by the local priest produce it , is a great idea.
Could only be harvested after Lent (by someone fasting) and could be traded to Magi of St Nerius.
The garden of the priest being in a higher divine aura due to proximity of the church.
I might consider a small divine regio with a wine press.

Excellent idea!
The magi would so love a visiting party of clerics just about the time the visiting nobles arrive.

One magus has an Infernal reputation of 1 as "Tormentor of the Damned" after all.
Gained by a major stress roll on Theology when he encontered the Infernal Danse Macabre.
(he does not intend to deliberately increase this reputation , but who knows what might happen)

Another good idea!
There is a Bountiful Feast Ritual in effect. Having parts of it hijacked by local gardens to produce Divinely-tainted aubergines (or whatever)
could have interesting effects on dinner at the High Table.

Wine is stored at the winery , which is in the general modest divine aura , where the sound of the church bell reaches.
Having local wine blessed on the Saints Feast Day would have benefits.

There is a small local hostelry , run by the Benedictines , catering to the slowly increasing group of pilgrims who visit the area.
A number of them also labour in the vineyards and the winery.

The magi want to start a school teaching latin and Artes Liberales , so as to possibly find an apprentice or two.
Perhaps they may engage the services of one of the monks to teach , or be asked if they will instruct novices in Latin.
The covenant does have an excellent Magister in Artibus and significant high quality latin texts for instruction.
Plus a Doctor in Theology.

There will be one or two people with True Faith and quite a few Pious persons around for various magi-disturbing good works to be enacted on.
