Mission: Improbable

It is indeed, albeit much much worse for the wear.

(did you read the description? Are you aware of what you unleashed?)
And the thing was in pretty bad shape to begin with
Carmen is going to retrieve her flying carpet, bring it back here, and use it to get everyone in the lab. :imp:
And this is how she's gonna do it...
Carmen heads back downstairs to the foyer type area, still within the region. If my guess is accurate, their should be a balcony or window of some sort here. It will lead to an outdoors that is also within the region. She will fly out and up to the balcony that we can see attached to the lab. She will go grab the carpet, fly back around and up the stairs, the carpet is large enough for everyone to board, and she will fly them out from the one balcony up to the other.

Carmen launches herself outside the third floor balcony (adjoining the antechamber) and is dismayed to see that, from the outside, this building is a single story stone building. The balcony is raised above a river, and a small brass staircase leads over the water and down into the meadow.

The scenery is breathtaking, with rolling hills, luscious grass, a river sparkling with crystal blue water. The sky glistens like agate and puffy clouds dot the sky like fat little sheep in a blue meadow.

(A Per+Aware of 12+ to discern that the clouds actually ARE some kind of fluffy sheep, floating in the sky. On a 9 or better you'd still notice something amiss and can re-roll to reflect shielding your eyes from the sun and looking again more closely.)

Meanwhile, back in the lab...

The chest lid pops open, and Ludwig croons. He picks up a small green gem, puts it in his mouth, and shuts the chest.

(Mark, it's up to you to decide what happens to Ludwig, who just ate a rook of Animal vis.)

Perception +1, Awareness 2 (alert?)
die roll: 1d10=9
So fine, the clouds are fluffy sheep
So are you telling me that there is no other way in or out this single story stone building? Just the way I flew out?
That means that the view seen from the balcony seen in the lab we can see into ( ) must look out into yet another region layer. Or maybe this is another region layer. Or maybe both...

So are the big fluffy sheep also clouds? Carmen has a few useful spells concerning weather and stuff like that :smiling_imp:

There are three options...

  1. He simply (or at the very least) gains a point of Warping.
  2. If you want something weird to happen, then you will have to decide what that is. Roll with it. Give him a temporary animal feature or animal power, which fades after a while but the point of warping remains.
  3. If you want me to decide, then I say it gives him the power to turn off the ward and grants each of us a hundred points of Confidence

Yep. The clouds are sheep, and the sheep are clouds. It sounds weird, but when you're looking at them it makes total sense.

Hmm. An Animal power could be VERY USEFUL right about now. (And it could have been any Form, the d10 just came up Animal.)

Ludwig chews thoughtfully for a moment, then falls over, convulsing.

Carmen flies up close enough to touch the sheep clouds and then casts "Maintain the Demanding Spell" on her flight.
Int 4, Conc 3 (spells, die roll 1d10=1
:imp: This is where I don't need an exploder. It is just wasting my good luck allotment...
exploder roll 1d10=9
so Concentration succeeds, now watch me fail the spell...
ReVi35...
Stamina +0, Rego 9, Vim 8, Loud Words & Exaggerated Gestures +2, I have no idea what the Aura is
die roll 1d10=7
=26 (+aura), spell succeeds and she looses a Fatigue (unless the aura is super incredibly powerful).

Then she will spont an Intellego Auram spell to speak with the sheep-clouds.
I am banking on a good roll, spending points of confidence as needed, and hoping that there is a strong enough aura
InAu25 Speak with Sheep-Clouds
Base 15, +1 Touch, +1 Diameter

Stamina +0, Intellego 5x2, Auram 15+3, Talisman (+3 Air, +2 Intellego), Loud Words & Exaggerated Gestures +2,
die roll : 1d10=5
Equals 40. Plus two confidence equals 46, so I hope the aura helps by at least +4

The aura is +6, so Carmen does lose a fatigue casting MtDS (I assume you meant the lv35 version?), and the InAu spont succeeds, with two Confidence spent.

Pet me, a cloud-sheep demands, nuzzling Carmen's hand forcefully. Is it time to be shorn already? another asks. Do you bring food? a third inquires, rooting through Carmen's pockets.

If Carmen has any Auram vis on her, the third sheep can smell it and is going to try and eat it.

Actually-- The InAu should on Carmen, allowing her to communicate with clouds, so since it's Range: Personal instead of Touch. She can either cast it as a level20 spell at Diameter without spending any Confidence, or she can choose to spend two confidence to keep it at level 25, bumping the duration at Sun.

(She COULD try to cast it as a Touch spell on each of the sheep, but that would have to penetrate, and these are clearly not mundane sheep.)

whichever works best

Sun duration works best

And there is one cloud-sheep trying to eat your Auram vis. It's not that hard to play keep-away, but the big gal is persistent.

This is definitely a higher level of regio!
Carmen will give the one sheep a strand of hair
Wassup? Wha'cha doin'? Where is this place?
I need to get into the building down below, a different way than I came out. If you help me, I will shear your wool for you (as in she will cause it to rain, which I think is the metaphoric equivalent here).

What place? Only place is sky, the largest comments.

No, sister, there is also Not-Sky, says the smallest (still the size of a very large horse), while munching happily on Carmen's vis-hair.

We never go there, says a third.

You can shear us? the smallest asks, rolling over and rubbing itself against Carmen's leg. Some of the wool rubs off onto Carmen's trouser, and she can see that this stuff is amazing. It looks like it could be made into textile, the way wool could, but this stuff can only be pure Auram: it smells like the air after a thunderstorm, and it feels fantastic. I itch.

No, Erabeth. We have to wait for ugly earth-man, the biggest admonishes. Pretty sky-lady can't shear us. She cannot wield Thor's Hammer.

Pretty sky-lady wants to go to Not-Sky. Why? It smells foul. Like earth.

I don't need Jupiter's hammer. Just watch. Do you want to be sheared as rain or as snow?

What?

What?

What?

The three of them all seem confused by this question.

Are you aware of the concept of precipitation? I am presuming that is what shears you, but I may be wrong. What happens when it rains or snows?
Or does that cause you to do something else?
Carmen has a mental image of the three cloud-sheep "expelling their water" all over the building below  .

The middle sheep blushes. It is not polite to speak of these things.

The big one laughs. Nonsense! He squats, and a small flurry of snow bursts from his arse. He then lifts one leg, and a rain shower falls to the ground below.

The smallest one shakes her head. Forgive them their foolishness. The ugly earth-man brings the wrath of Thor on us, which does not cause us harm. Then he shears us. ...With shears.

Vibria scowls at the...at Ludwig and wonders what deep-fried goblin would smell like. But Carmen's a big girl, and if she wants him dealt with, she's quite capable of doing so herself. Doesn't mean Vibria has to like the way he's behaving. (And here, she thought it was just her he hated! )

Vibria watches, fascinated. She's heard of (and seen, once or twice) this Arabic/Tremere game, but has never played it. That would make a great addition to my sitting room, she thinks. ((Per 0 + Awareness 3 + die roll of 1, followed by a die roll of 6) die total of 12 = 15. Attention, MageMart Shoppers ))

Oh, God, and it will teach me to play chess!!! I need that thing!

[color=red]"Noooooooooo!!!" Vibria yells as she tries to power through the barrier. [color=red]"You stupid selfish idiot!" she screams in Catalan, then switches back to Latin. [color=red]"What do you think you're doing?!"
