OOC: Character Creation

yes. That is RAW.

Original post from Emelric below.

At the start of the saga, magi can bring the following with them when they travel to the site of the new covenant:

  1. 60 BP of Summae, Tractatus, Lab Texts, and Casting Tablets (see rules on pg. 71 of core rules for the 1st three, Casting Tablets cost 2 BP per 5 levels)
  2. 10 pawns of vis (any Art) + what you have left over from the 2 years of advancement post Gauntlet

Assume that you'll be able to cobble together enough money to feed everyone in the group for 1 year.

Is there anything else that you'd like your magi to bring? I'm open to suggestions.

I can's see anything else posted that is restricting level and Level 20 is the limit in Covenants.

Jebrick, have you posted your 60 build points and 10 vis choice yet? Just want to make sure I have not missed it. Thanks, John

OK, make it Perdo summa L 14, Q15 and Intellego summa L 15, Q16.

working on it now

Vis will be 7 Corpus 3 Creo

Um the spell description says "if the flames penetrate the ward." If you can penetrate with that spell, you can just be immune with a general ward...

Thank you. I'll update the Vis list and look forward to your 60 build points when you have done them. At least I had not just missed them

Someone pick for me. Vis stores are covenant's we are donating, yes? If so Reynard would just try and get what is needed.

Go with Philosophae Summae Level 6 Quality 12 and 10 Rego Vis.

Books for Tomas. I am debating the 2nd one. it might cause some problem if people without the Fairy magic Supernatural ability are able to gain that ability by the book ( which is not the intention).

Sensus atque Sensibile by Tactius ex Merinita Imaginem Summae lvl 18 Q 10 - A large rough bound book filled with the ramblings of Tactius ex Merinita. Considered one of the great casters of illusions of his time and also to be quite unhinged from his dealings with the Fae. Given to Tomas as a gift from his pater. 28 BP

Linguas Avium by Faustinus ex Merinita magus- lvl 5 Q:7 summae Fairy magic - A well bound book breaking down the theory of Fairy magic. A gift from Caitlin Suil Uaine to Tomas upon his Gauntlet. 22BP

Make it so.

O_O wow you drop a name whooper there. Your parens?

I would like to take the

option for lab upkeep please... makes more thematic sense to me.

He is from Crun Clach and none of the other Merinita magi had any specialty in Illusions. It is not like she wrote some dedication to love in the margins for Tomas.

Deleted: Had question clarified

Again I'm not trying to be argumentative. Reynard benefits highly from being able to more easily dispel wards. I'm looking for clarification in part to plan him out, but also in part for any other character or familiar in the future that may want to ward.

Also: Aegis needs to penetrate the Parma or Might of the creature trying to dispel the Aegis for the Aegis to automatically dispel effects to dispel it, correct?

The ward has to penetrate what it is stopping. If you ward against flame and the flame has a might of zero then the ward needs a penetration of zero. If you ward vs fairies of 10 with a casting score of 15 and a fairy of might 6+ can pass the ward.

ok. I was thinking about a Black Lineage familiar. Will need to have it invest more in penetration.

As far as familiars are concerned, what are the guidelines for creation?

I am dropping out of this campaign. Good luck with it.

Should I remove the Vis and build point contribution from T Riffix Rex or is the Emelric in a generous frame of mind?
