I have had this same issue before. Rego crafting magic is amazingly difficult unless you can break it down to smaller bits. IMHO, A profession or skill should add into the total needed for rego craft magic. Now this would not work for large items that require a guild to build like a ship or building. But if a magus wanted to invest points/time into a profession that they can then use craft magic to make it easier then it should be accounted for.
I have been trying to find the conversion of labor points to craft magic but I have not been able to yet.
lol higher level and harder to research = less powerful.
If you create a ward vs Fire do you need to penetrate the Might of a creature or does it need to penetrate the ward? It renders classes of spells useless.
If the rule is now only one of your 60 point build picks can be a Summae level 15, Quality 15 I need a new pick (or lower level or quality) from Magnus please:
Yes it does, I am afraid, if the attack comes from a power from something with a might score. If you read the P113 of HoH: Societies in the Columbae section "Wards and Penetration@ it spells it out in the best way I have seen. The fact that Columbae Warding don't have to penetrate vs things with a might score is why they are so powerful
Seems like they retroactively created that rule to make the Columbae.
So, a Magic Cat of Black Lineage and he makes a ward. The ward first needs to penetrate what he is warding against so what he is warding against has the opportunity to try to penetrate the cat's ward, or is it the reverse?
Preparing complex items, do you guys know the difference between using more Vis to prepare everything and using less Vis for just the most expensive part?
