Can we have a familiar or companion set up a specialty lab and refine it?

Also what's the bonus from high quality food and wine for aging rolls?

I myself have avoided it, but it seems eminently doable in this Saga. However, there are some rules for taking over another's refined Lab in Covenants, don't remember them at the moment, but it would be very amusing and embarrassing that a grog/Companion sets up a Lab that a Magus can't use!

-1 each. We haven't gone the superior baker route yet!

Is there a description of how adventure resolutions work in the fast advancement setup of this saga?

Yep, http://praesidiumorae.wikidot.com/fast-advancement-period.

I am interested in playing an apprentice Flambeau. Is anyone willing to take me on as a "Manufactured apprentice"?

Hey, what's up? Don't know what silveroak's current rulings are on this, so no opinion on that. A character I handle is Andros, a Flambeau, but he currently has an Apprentice. He will look for an Apprentice again a few years after Neleos Gauntlets. He's a very good teacher! By "Manufactured Apprentice" do you mean those produced by the Fertility Rituals?
Originally the concept for the Saga was: create a mature magus, whose house is not currently represented in the Covenant, whom you will not control, and create an Apprentice for that magus, which is your real character, and will be matured season by season until hopefully we reach 1220 (currently 1139), and we start playing the real Saga. At some point, the older magus will die/fade into Twilight, although they can stay in the background if they for example Become, or find some other immortality fix, (Note that 10 Warping is a solid wall in this Saga). Currently we are not roleplaying that much, this is more Ars Accounta  , although I do find it enjoyable.

John contacted me be email before he posted this message "manufactured apprentice" was my term for one created by a fertility ritual, and I did change the starting rules a while back so that only those who wanted to be in a currently unrepresented house needed to create a teacher, others would apprentice with an existing one. Assuming Anna's youngest doesn't somehow wind up as a Flambeau apprentice (due to unexpected virtues/flaws?) then someone would have to persuade her to create a potential apprentice, possibly selecting a grog with desired characteristics to bear the child...
or of course he can take a more traditional character, or work within what is already here...

I would be happy to wait until Andros is ready to take on a new apprentice. Alternatively if the troop really want something else for the saga I would be happy to discuss and create both Teacher and Apprentice to meet the need.

Flambeau is a society so a character can end up a Flambeau without a Flambeau teacher. "Mechanically" it would be something else, but when you're already getting the advantages of training up from the apprentice stage that's a bit less important I think. (YMMV)

Just seen the ghostly librarian has Grant Book Learner, how would I convince him to use it on Bravery? Or would I actually not want that? Just wondering...

Sorry, just got back today from a working trip, and coverage where I was staying was very bad, will get right to updating every character I handle.

A large chunk of vis for Leaf to use to transform. Which means bugging Anna to go buy it from Leaf. Of course, bringing Leaf along on adventures would give confidence allowing for more uses of said ability. But you would need to risk bringing Leaf on adventure with his blatant magical air!

Not sure I get it....
I would understand Vis for the ritual power. What kind of transform are we talking about? What would confidence from adventure change?

Who is playing Leaf?

Hi eldarin! Quite Possibly a Cat is playing Leaf, so you have engaged the right person. Transformation is a Magic process from the appropriately titled RoP:Magic. Since Magic Might hinders or even stops regular learning, such beings collect pawns of vis, until they have at least their Might in pawns; they then consume these pawns and take their chances rolling in the Transformation Table, to hopefully acquire a new and thematically appropriate Magical Quality. The second question has to do with Magical powers, including Ritual ones, being able to substitute some Confidence instead of Might in the activation cost. Also, Leaf’s Vis Mastery Quality, which allows him to exchange Confidence for vis under specific guidelines. Thus, going to adventures and gaining Confidence is a bit like gaining vis for such characters.

Leaf doesn't have the vis mastery quality. The reason why confidence is valuable is because it can power his Grant Book Learner virtue.

The reason why bringing him on adventures would help is because if he has more uses of Grant Book Learner to sell, he'd be willing to sell them for less. Plus he's not adverse to giving people discounts if they've helped him out.

Leo has not posted in 5 days, at least 3 of which have been waiting for him to do so in Adventures in brief. I have no notice that he would be unavailable, at this point I need to move the game forward. Either we need someone to manage his characters in his absence or we need to sideline and potentially drop them if this situation continues. Any voices on this, volunteers to guide the characters or opinions to be offered?

I'm here! Sorry for not being able to post in the last days.

I've been out of town this weekend, and repairing servers for work both before and after, so I'm a bit behind. I'll get my characters updated after work.

I could, if Silveroak is willing to either a) allow Charity's fertility ritual to be retconned or b) just have her develop the Gift anyway. You'd need to become a Flambeau after apprenticeship, but they are a society.

Also super busy until monday, blah, blah blah
