A few details-

  1. somewhere the idea has crept into the campaign that craft magic= free superior tools and equipment for everyone. At the rate this covenant is going the craft magus will be spending their seasons managing routine upkeep on the covenant. My preference would be to see a recruitment of skilled people who can provide the equipment without affecting lab time and possibly higher bonuses. A single spell will not provide for sets of equipment, and when multiple labs are being outfitted and maintained, this will be more than a trivial exercise. In my article there is a calculated labor point cost for adding and maintaining the feature (especially above standard levels), which in terms of craft magic (though again not specifically addressed in the article) this will mean a large number of small castings each season.
    2)Your lab will have an automatic feature from starting with a workshop of the masonry shop with an items bonus- probably as a major feature, possibly as a major focus as well.

I would like to have it as both a Greater Feature and Greater Focus. Since Paphos built it, would it take advantage of his 21 craft total? If so, would the normal Feature/Focus boni be multiplied by 4? Lastly, would the boni be Terram, Items, or something else such as split between the two? Terram is preferable if he has a choice.

Paphos set up his shop, he didn't build it. The primary focus would be the masonry crane, so he does not get the benefit of the craft bonus, any more than he does for crafting items after setting up the workshop.

It seems pretty cheesy to me to allow a non-Gifted character to build an Art-based lab, and then take 4 flaws to limit it to one Art. Would every non-Art-based lab have 5 flaws for having no Arts to support?

This character uses six of the hermetic Arts. Are you suggesting he should have to pay for the arts he does not use? If so, that seems like a small change to make, affecting only lab maintenance.

I'm not sure what you are asking about non-art based labs. I would think that a non art based lab would not be a hermetic lab and therefore would not use hermetic virtues or flaws in it's construction.

To compare, this lab is close in construction to a dedicated vis extraction lab, with only Creo and Vim ingredients. A single TeFo lab could take Missing Ingredients up to eight times.

It only affects maintenance cost, and it makes sense for his limitations to make the lab cheaper to maintain.

Roger that. He has not spent the time to install the two, so I took them out and added in Empty to account for the used size being less than available size. I posted the stats to the first post in the thread.
