Road to Pamplona (Spring 1234)

Pere glances at the hand but doesn't otherwise react or comment. Well, consciously anyway. Within reason, sodale, within reason. Not everything in this room is for sale, but I'm reasonably certain you can find one or more who are to your liking. If not, there are less reputable places where you can indulge more...eclectic tastes. I should warn you that no woman, even a maga, should enter some of those places unescorted. Has Andorra provided you with any sort of grog escort?

Acutus turns back to Fedora, "Mistress Fedora, how many magi reside at Andorra? Are there many junior magi there? I myself am only 5 years removed from my gauntlet, and am curious if there are others or similar experience."

At this point it is well past midnight. It is raining outside. English Erik returns, thunder flashing as he enters the door, hair tousled and wet, rain runing down his grim face. Paying no mind to anyone, he walks up to the bar and orders a glass of Russian water (vodka), and tosses it back straight. Then he asks for another...

"Ah, I think I see many options have just arrived." Fleur grins at Pere and winks at Fedora before standing up and crossing the bar to Erik.
"You sir, left me, rudely might I add, quite aroused and frustrated, and I insist you take me upstairs and resolve the situation at once!"
If this works as she expects there should be no question as to Erik's location for the rest of the night.

Erik says not a word, nor does any expression play over his grim face. He looks at you with hard eyes, his hair tousled and wet with rain and his brow heavy with stress. He tosses back the second glass of vodka, takes Fleur by the hand, and leads her upstairs.

He is quite laconic, much more so than Actus, and obviously something troubles him. But other than some dirty talk, he has nothing to say.
His performance (I am giving him +1 for angst) is ...
1d10+1=3
um, well, he has a lot of stress going on in his life

"At Andorra?" Fédora takes a quick mental census. Herself, Vulcanus, Carmen, Arachné, Solomon, Vocis, Kesara[sup]1[/sup] "We have seven magi in all, but only one is a Journeyman."

FĂ©dora quirks a brow at Fleur's rather heavy-handed flirtation (and Erik's reaction thereto), but says nothing as she turns back to Acutus.

"We do have three magi at the chapter house at Sa Dragonera, however...all journeymen."

[sup]1[/sup]I know nothing about Kesara, a cursory search shows some very old stuff in the pre-whatever part of the forums, and she has no sheet on the wiki. She does, apparently, still have a vote and a voice in the Council meetings, so I'm assuming that she's still an active maga (after a fashion) and resides at Andorra proper.

Fleur is a bit frustrated at Erik's performance, but takes care of him to make sure that stress plus release will wind up with something akin to sleep, and she will whisper to him as he falls asleep, hoping he may reveal more between wake and sleep than he might intend or probably should.

That is a clever idea, and I will gnaw on that hook after some thought.

Minor side character for now. Her relation to current magi is that Solomon is her Mentor. Her father and parens, a past master named Inigo (Xalbator), when the new council reformed in 1230, asked the masters to take on his newly gauntleted daughter as a Journeywoman. She has done her seven seasons, the council voted her in (I can hunt for that post later if you want). She was with Solomon at Duresca when Metron escaped (he tried to attack her but then fled in terror). According to one prophecy she is supposedly the Lumina, the mystical blood &/or magical descendant of Reculed "Flambeau" Seneca. Seventh in line. However, note that Carmen and Roberto are also of that direct mystical lineage (though Delendos), and Carmen is also seventh in line (I do not know what number Roberto is, I never calculated it and he thinks the whole Lumina line is a bunch of malarkey).
And that's about it. Minor side character for now. Never bothered making a full character sheet (just some vague notes). She is a possible potential future story idea, but in the meantime she serves as a guardian against an old rival who lurks these forums.

FĂ©dora quirks a brow at Fleur's rather heavy-handed flirtation (and Erik's reaction thereto), but says nothing as she turns back to Acutus.

"We do have three magi at the chapter house at Sa Dragonera, however...all journeymen."

"I...," Acutus looks towards Fleur, "is she always that...forward?" He shakes his head and turns back to Fedora, "So exactly how does this Chapter House operate? Pere mentioned it was different, but didn't seem too clear about himself."

zzzzzzzzzzzz....
gkkkkk....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
kkk, hffahhhh..
mmmmm....
...not dead....
smack-smack
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................

you whisper and inquire, trying to urge further talking in his sleep.
ummm..., gimme a roll of some kind. Folk Ken maybe?

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/search/1427495/ Folk ken (1)+Com(5)+die roll(5)=11

FĂ©dora half-smiles. "I've not known her that long, but...yes, she does seem to be."*

"It is a little confusing. As best I can tell, there's not anything like it the Order; every other Chapter House belongs to just one covenant, while Sa Dragonera actually belongs to us and to the Covenant of Barcelona.

"Basically, the magi there own the vis sources. The chapter house protects the sources and harvests the vis, and keep about half, 60%, somewhere in there, we share our resources with them in return. I'm sure there's more nuanced detail than that in the charters, but that's the gist of it, as best I can recall."

((Tbh, I'm a little fuzzy on just how that operates, myself – I just looked at the Sa Dragonera page on the wiki and ran with what's there. Feel free to infodump if that's wrong or tragically incomplete.))

 • no joke, my finger slipped as I was typing "seems to be" and it almost came out "she does seem to bed."

You guys...
:unamused:
You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your description of the Sa Dragonera arrangement, yep.

you whisper questions asking who is not dead or some such
zzzzz...
mnapt-mnapy
Everyone thinks your dead Piroman, assassinated...
zzzz....
Erat Caecus? He can't see you. He is a blind man.

Fleur runs halfway down the stairs, thinks about the situation, runs back up and grabs a shirt, then runs down to Fedora. "I have to ask while I have the names in my head, does Piroman or Caecus mean anything to you? I, um, overheard Erik talking about them, sort of to them but, well, he thought he was talking to one of them, I think." She then stops to think again and puts on the shirt.

(Is Carmen there? I don't remember. I'm going to pretend Silveroak meant FĂ©dora.)

FĂ©dora quirks a brow and tries not to look too embarrassed at Fleur's...lack of decorum.

"El Piroman is dead...Trentus of Flambeau, I believe his name was, Piroman was a nickname? He was killed a few months ago, as I recall."

She then lowers her voice. "Erat Caecus is...rather infamous in Barcelona, he's rather shady and been a thorn in Barcelona Covenant's side for a good while."

I love Peregrine Bjornaer for remembering the little loving details I scatter about

"El Piroman isn't dead. Erik met him today, assured him everyone thought he was dead. Apparently met with him and Erat Caecus when the man in the dark cloak dragged him out of here."

not dead which eternal lie, with strange eons death may die...

...drain you of your sanity, face the thing that should not be!

Why do I feel like I just dropped the season finale cliffhanger for a soap opera?
