Arts and Acadamie states that artwork can be used as a study source in it's own field with a quality of it's aesthetic quality/2.
Does this work like a summae (no max level is specified)? Like a tractus (it doesn't give a limit for how many times it can be studied)? Does it allow for unlimited advancement? Given that many forms of art are also useful crafts, this could lead to some incredibly skilled laborers with just a few iterations of study. If a maestro stone worker nearing immortality produces a work with AQ:30 that gives it a SQ of 15. So my apprentice mason can go study the work for his off season 3 years in a row and gain an extra 45 xp? Assuming 8xp from training each year and assuming the exposure goes elsewhere (leadership, guild lore...?that gives him 69 xp in his third year, one more season of training and he will be as good at the craft itself as his master...
studying the same work for 1 season a year for a decade after apprenticeship would give 150+75=225 xp in stoneworking, or ability 9. If you throw in an affinity or puissant ability, they get to level 10 or 9+2 respectively, or 10+2 with both.
I'd handle them as tractatus.
I should think not!
I'd second that. No such sources of study with unlimited uses for me thanks
Next, can a craftsman sponsor themselves? For example a woodworker has an income of 10 pounds a year with 2 seasons of work, and a 0 reputation, it should cast a pound or less to sponsor him as an artist, so it would seem to me that he should be able to sponsor himself in one of his off seasons to create artistic carvings...
Also wondering if the study rules for Realia would fit better, so whatever it's source quality is, that is the number of times it can be studied as well....
