Table talk (Bibracte)

It's like a fine wine, layered with complexity...

Some things, though, I don't think can work well. The Gilds of the Rhein and Shards and Tokens from Thebes...

Sorry I've been behind in my posting, holiday and all. I'll catch up tomorrow.

I, personally, think that when this storyline plays out we will have a hard time allowing other Magus to join the Covenant unless they are our apprentices or we know them very well.

If if Korvin has some background information that suggests otherwise? If he comes with a recommendation from another Magical Mercere is that not worth something?

The storyline of his dark secret playing out comes after he joins Mons Electi. The hurdle for joining Mons Electi is having him recommended by people the characters trust.

Actually, I just thought of one instance where Penetration would be useful for Leap of the Homecoming, but it's more suited for an assault/combat/assassin maga. If you LotH into a foreign Aegis, don't you need Penetration to overcome the Aegis's Resistance?

Yes, that's one instance. However, I don't think it applies to Tranquilina. Her CS is 33...

Interestingly, the 'Outer Circle' of House Guernicus is supposed to include one Quaesitor from each non-Guernicus House, as well as one Quaesitor per tribunal. This coupled with the six member 'Inner Circle' makes up the council of Magvillus. It's all in HoH:TL.

For purposes of my story, it will be relevant to know just how many Bjornaer Quaesitors there are within the order. If Eule is currently the only one and her final twilight is discovered, that might put Moro in an interesting position.

We'll go with Eule being the only one presently designated as a Quesitor.
Also, keep in mind that your lineage shouldn't include direct reference to Eule. Your original parens is your cover, and those not of House Bjornaer aren't really familiar with the sharing of apprentices and how apprenticeship works after the Gathering of Twelve Years.
If I'm doing the arithmetic correctly, your Heartbeast was awakened at the Gathering of Twelve Years in 1191. 30 years from entry into the saga is 1193, Moro's gauntlet date. 1191 is the immediately preceding Gathering of Twelve years, and the one in 1179 is too close to the beginning of Moro's apprenticeship which started in 1178. You can weave those facts into Moro's back story.

That's right about Eule. I haven't yet fleshed out his Bjornaer Deidne Parens yet ... I'm toying with a few ideas. Do let me know if there are any particular narrative strands that would make things interesting.

Also, thanks for doing the math on the Gathering. This puts his Awakening at the very end of his apprenticeship, which actually makes a lot of sense for the personality I'm developing.

Fleshing out details about Spider's Palace:

Based on content from Lion and Lily, let's call them the apprentices of Alroy of Flambeau and Prunellie of Merinita. Both are very fresh out of the gauntlet, and have been given the "irritating" duty of maintaining the Spider's Palace covenant by their parens as a way to simultaneously keep the claim and give the journeymen some elbow room.

Virgil of Flambeau is restless and battle-hungry, and spends all his time wishing he had a reasonable excuse to be elsewhere. Sadly, his reputation has earned him few such opportunities.

Olivia of Merinita follows in Prunellie's footsteps like a child who has seen no other path. One might call her politically ambitious, except that she has no understanding of politics beyond the Florum vassalages. Thus, all her Machievellian scheming is focused around gaining better access to Florum books, or wresting faerie alliances from her mater's hands.

If anyone wants some combat...
The grogs are identical redshirts based on The Tough guy from the MRB. of course, if you want to own them and remake them, you're more than welcome to do so... I'll give it a day for someone to speak up. If someone does speak up I'll give another few days to generate grogs. If nothing's ready to go by Tuesday, we'll more forward with Peregrine running The Tough Guys. Oh, if you do remake them, keep in mind that they may not survive... But if they do, the stories they could tell...

And, boy, would they be bringing home the bacon!

And if a woman or batting left handed, as it were, fry it up in a pan. And never let you forget you're a man.

I'd be happy to jump in! I could whip a couple of grogs up early this weekend.

In honor of this, I'm very tempted to give one of the grogs the Transvestite Flaw.

I dated myself with that paraphrase, by the way. Did you date yourself, too?

By knowing the Enjoli ad? yeah....

I remembered the song, too...could see it, hear it, even remembered the hot chick that was in it. But I could not remember what it was an advert for, I had to google that. But that ad was all over the airwaves, back in the day.

I'm thinking I was like 9 or 10...and it burned into my mind...

I think we can conclude that we're both already making Aging rolls....

And, in my case, anyway, failing them. of course, it feels like my job is inflicting a Light Wound every day on my back.
