Multi-casting (2) Sap the Griffon's Strength.

Fast-casting Mien of Helios, then dodging out of the way of the hopefully blinded giant (Dagny should know to do the same, this is his usual tactic; and they both know not to look at him).

IMO, Wolfgang cannot cast both spells in the same round. I'm open to an argument on why he should be able to.

A maga may choose to cast a Spontaneous spell extremely quickly, as a response to an attack or other surprising event.

Seems to me like neither of the situations apply here.

Note that Wolfgang has the element of surprise. He could easily cast his first spell on one round, then the second one on the second round, before the giants have time to react.
