Thalassa Ex Miscellanea

Or you could just drop some blood in the water, and her familiar can let her know we're being summoned

Cidito the cat (Roberto's familiar) can always "walk around the corner" and pop into Thalassa'a crib, presuming he gets the scent and there is a dry spot (Cidito can't swim and is not that fond of getting wet).

I'm a ReAq specialist, I can do a circle/ring spell to keep water out that Cid can pop into. As long as Cid eats Pelagios' leftovers, I hate when he leaves fish livers on the floor.

Again I am slow.
You could always enchant a magic light attached to a cable leading all the way to the surface, tug the cable and the light blinks to alert Thalassa her presence is required. Or something like that.

Ok, so, that won't work. I keep forgetting about Parma and needing to break through it. As I said, I'm no expert on the system.

So, I guess I have a question then: How is it that Thalassa is going to actually come back to the Covenant proper when called? I ask because I read something in one of the tribunals about a portal system between Dragon's Rest and...oh crap, I can't think of the second place. Couldn't we just use something similar to that, sending someone down there to say "Hey, baby"?

Fish liver and white wine
meow?

If you're referring to Hermes Portals, no. Very high level and expensive. We might have one between the chapterhouse and Andorra, but I can't imagine we'll have one within the covenant.

It's only 30 feet down. You signal, she swims up. I spent a quality on being able to take Human Shape... No big deal.

Now if I understand, the human shape you take is monstrous but humanoid and your natural shape is a fish. Or is it that your natural shape is monstrous and your human form seems normal?

Natural shape is monstrous (going for full on mermaid), human shape seems normal. But as JL pointed out in the general thread... everybody needs feet sometimes.

"Holy fishnets, Thalassa! The Shark-Signal"

"Quickly, chum, to the Sharkmobile!"

I...
I don't know if I am going to laugh or cry...
 :unamused: :frowning:    :unamused:

I love playing my Harvey Korman to Peregrine's Tim Conway.

Great...now I want to make a dentist!

Come on! You had to see that one coming!

Ok, so that's out of the question. Let's see if I can come up with another solution.

What about an enchanted item that simply blinks or something to let her know that she's being called? Like a ring of some kind that just blinks a couple of times? Actually, that's not a bad thing for all of the Magi to have - it would alert us that our presence is needed in the Covenant as soon as possible. It shouldn't be that major of an item if all it does is blink to let us know we're being called, it shouldn't have to deal with getting through anybody's Parma as it isn't trying to affect the person directly, and it should be easily creatable by anybody with a decent lab score, yes? We could then still use the idea of having something in the Covenant that any Magi can use to "call" us, and it could maybe have the bonus of being a locator to show where each of us is. (Which could also be a decent storyguide plot point - someone breaks into the covenant, uses the device to find us, starts hunting us down, we have to defend ourselves, yada yada yada...)

Is that feasible?
