"Suspicious of what? That a few apprentices on their Magnimartha, one of which is an apprentice of their covenant, are using their Qui Sonant as a resting place while possibly causing trouble with a neighbor or exploring someplace? Sure, probably. But they are unlikely to stop us or reprimand us or anything though we should probably not mention that we hid someone's talisman in the graveyard."
You are able to get back to Qui Sonnant in a couple of hours, by midafternoon.
Arnar looks at the sky again. «I think we can make it back to the regio by nightfall, but maybe we do not want to spend the night there? What do you think?»
âSeems to me that itâs safest to stay the night at Qui Sonant. Return refreshed.â
When they arrive at Qui Sonant Bran speaks to friendly covenfolk about borrowing winter clothes that have been stored for the warm months, rope, a few days worth of food, torches, and anything else the group thinks they might need.
[my impression is Bran got along well with the covenfolk. Being fairly social and gently gifted as well as older and more responsible than most apprentices unsure if youâd like me to make any sort of roll to gather what we need.]
They consider the request for winter clothes with some reserve, but ultimately they are lent out, along with the other supplies.
Bran thanks them and lets them know he'll bring them back when they return, hopefully in no more than a few days.
In the morning he gathers the others on Magnimartha, "So, should we collect the spoon and bring it to the regio? Did you also want to explore the Regio? I have to say my own curiosity is piqued."
«Yeah ... let's move the spoon and get it over with. I am not too keen on exploring narrow tunnels though. I am rather more curious about the invaders. How would you go about that spelunking anyway? »
"Exploring the regio can wait until we can check up on the invaders again," Sionnach agreed. "But we should still come back to it from time to time. We could eventually put it the regio to use, so how about we come back in between our run-ins with the English?"
«Using it as a base, you mean? Get some furnishing?»
"I am fine with waiting to explore the regio though it seems rather close to Qui Sonant to be of use to us directly... assuming you mean as a possible covenant site or whatnot."
«It might even be within their territory. Do you know, Bran?»
[OOC: Bran has Cov Lore: Qui Sonant 1 (Spec would not apply), is that something he knows or do you need a roll?]
It is within the grazing range of Qui Sonant's cattle...
âQui Sonant sometimes brings their cattle nearby the entrance to graze... it would be far too close to set up a covenant there. Though exploring it and letting the magi here at qui Sonant know more about it might be of value to them.â
"Yeah, you're right on that, but even just using it as a temporary home base would be a good use of it. Besides, who knows what interesting things we might find down there we can at least temporarily take advantage of, right?"
âIâm unsure if this would be a suitable base. Neither group seemed likely to be heading anywhere near here.â
«Indeed. Let's offload that spoon and see. I suppose I should fly and see how the intruders are doing ... if I can ... we have not seen them for a while. But we can offload the spoon first.»
âIt may be best if you fly quick as you can. If it is his talisman he will feel his connection return as soon as it leaves this aura and will be reachable until it enters the regio.â Bran states matter-of-factly. âAt least that is how it was described to me by my parens.â
«Ah ...» Arnar looks slightly worried. «Fly quickly with the spoon you mean!? OK. Where are you heading in the meantime? To meet up at the regio, or to play more tricks on the intruders?»
"Yes, to keep the spoon inside an area where arcane connections won't work for as much of the time as possible." Bran says, "Would you really like to keep an eye on the invaders? I would be surprised if we can find them again We know some of their general direction but that was from days ago."
