"Well, I think I'd be willing to try..." Bran says not quite sounding sure himself.
skyward winds does not affect the targe directly, but controls a burst of air underneath them to lift them into the air- control as such would be very indirect at best. Considering that simply deciding where something will land (as opposed to being a completely random location, as opposed to hitting a target) is a finesse roll of 12, what you are attempting would require much higher finesse- essentially you are aiming for a 3 foot hole on the way up as well as trying to vary the wind intensity for greater control- essentially trying to duplicate wings of the soaring wind without the rego requisit and with different parameters. Ease factor 24.
Arnar studies the ceiling, contemplating his idea. The more he thinks about, the more uncertain he gets. Barely audibly, he thinks aloud, «I wonder how large that hole is; I can't see it.» For several minutes he walks around in circles, in big thoughts. Pull of the Skybound WInds is still the best (only) idea he has.
Sionnach isn't particularly keen on Arnar's idea, mostly because it's not something he can control. He attempts the jump by himself, hoping to not get hurt too badly if he mis-aims. Unfortunately he fails at the spell he was attempting to cast the jump he takes barely makes him get off the ground. "We might have to try your idea. Or have you leave first and come take us once you have a rope, assuming that will work."
[He casts spontaneously casts Gift of the Frog's Legs at range personal with exaggerated voice and gesture. He fails, getting only a 16 instead of the minimum of 20. Roll was 0, botch dice were 2 and 1.]
Are there any lose rocks in the cavern? A 2-3' slab would be ideal, but that's wishful thinking.
a roll to jump 15 feet in the air?
I noticed a bit late, I'll be editing that post keeping that in mind.
Edited
did you take the level 4 magic aura into account?
Yes, the casting total added to the dice roll was 10 from Corpus + 0 from Rego + 4 from Aura + 2 from loud voice and exaggerated gestures.
@loke there are some pebble sized rocks in the cavern. Lots of rocks outside...
@anon86424056 You have not added the die roll.
«I can try something. I'll be right back,» says Arnar. «Please stand clear of under the entrance until I return.»
He will change to his eagle form, and fly out as he did before. Then he will find two good sized slabs of stone, as flat as possible, which he lifts using the porters touch. He takes his time, to avoid making mistakes¹. Slab in hand he jumps through the entrance as he did before. Hopefully, he can take the slab with him.
Inside the cavern he leaves the slab to be hovering five feet below the ceiling, before he leaves for the second slab, which he places hovering five feet above ground. If everything goes according to plan, the other two should be able to use the slabs a flight of stairs, with a little bit of athletics.
At sunset the two slabs will be crashing down.
¹ but let me know if a stress die is needed nevertheless.
This works (simple die will suffice), but will require a strength+athletics roll of 9 to climb out with this technique.
Sionnach manages it with a roll of 11 (9 + 2 from athletics). "Hey, Bran," he says from up there. "If you need a hand with this, I can help out."
Arnar makes a rather feable attempt to climb out in human form, but quickly gives up. He is not built for this kind of exercise¹. Thus he has to resort to eagle form again.
¹ Str -2 and Athletics 1
[Bran Rolled got 6 but will spend a confidence point to climb out, reflected on wiki sheet already]
Bran barely gets himself up to the first landing but pushes on to the second and out of the regio.
«Everybody alright? We go and get the spoon then?»
Arnar looks at the sky. What time is it?
It is just before noon.
Sionnach nods as he stands up from resting. "Let's hope we don't take too long returning to Qui Sonant. In case we do need to stay there for, say, another night, do you think they may get suspicious, Bran?"
