Ionas twitches uneasily and looks expectantly at Ulf, will he explain what he is talking about, or not?
Ulf smiles and moves on.
"Tremere doesn't participate in this round of recruiting. Right now we have only one magus in the tribunal who takes apprentices and he prefers to take apprentices rejected by others and show his capability in shaping them. Also at the moment he has an apprentice, a promising young leadworker he got last tribunal."
A Deborah Ex Miscelani approaches Ionas "So, what's your story?"
«Ran away. Very scary. And then I met these ... magi ...» he points at one or two that he recognises in the room, «and they said I belong here. And they gave me figs and bread.»
"And why did you run away?"
«Euh ...» Ionas looks at Deborah's shoes, «I was scared,» he says, and studies the shoes intently for a few minutes before the silence is unbearable, and he adds, «Biig, bada-boom, and the ... everybody went mad.» He mumbles something unintelligible, «was burning, and then I ran away.»
to Monorchas "Oh that is interesting, i didn't know so far that the Tremere have a tradition that involve crafting."
Deborah's eyes light up and she nearly whispers to Inoas "I can teach you to turn your tragedy into power" and slips him 5 tokens.
Ionas jaw drops, and he stears at the tokens in his hand.
Xene
"Yes, I should hope I will be able to make it back to Thessaloniki before the end of Winter. Thank you Reverend Mother, for your time and your offer of hospitality. Do any of the good Christians who come to the Tribunal hold a worship service? I know many among the Order would not want a Church built here on Delos but, perhaps, some among us still find time and space for mass, even while here in this pagan place?"
Apollon
Apollon, feeling restless, wanders around the island in solitude until eventually he finds himself on the shore of the sacred lake where he sits and tries to focus on the placid surface.
[OOC: Are there any proscriptions against drinking the water? If there are and he would have been told then he will not do that but otherwise he would refresh himself after his wanderings.]
Apollon sees a younger magus doing some last minute maintenance on one of the plinths. Otherwsie the lake is placid in contrast to the aura which surrounds it, making Apollon feel agitated.
"I would not wish to impinge on the dominant aura, nor offend those magi with differing faiths, but I believe during the Rite of Propriation there are several grogs who meet, I'm not certain where, for what they consider a Christian ceremony of purification from the Pagan overtones of the rite."
Castos of Bonisagus approaches Contantine "I hear you have an interest in joining the covenant of Favonius."
Constantine nods. "Yes, I do. I am not joining a Jerbiton covenant, I have heard that yours travels, and trades? That sounds very interesting. I am not a typical Jerbiton, my interest is in research, rather than in interference with mundanes and self-aggrandizement. But... I have been trained in interacting with mundane society, and I'm quite willing to put that to use on behalf of a covenant, to a reasonable extent. I was led to believe that Favionus would find value in that?"
"Indeed, especially with our newest ship being dedicated to trade. What sort of research is it that interests you?"
As the Tremere apparently didn't want to continue the talk and no new mage is approaching him Ioannes continue with the unfinished painting.
OOC: I suspect Silveroak missed my last posting because it was made short before he made a posting but it is also fitting that Monorchas didn't react to the unspoken question.
"I don't know, for sure. I've thought about improving the Hermetic understanding of Aristotle's Categories. But Jerbiton take such a dim view of research I haven't been able to do much of anything, or read any of the work that's already been done. I have discovered a way to avoid divine auras in cities, though it might be obvious, I don't know."
Apollon
Apollon approaches the young magus doing maintenance on the plinths. "Excuse me, Perhaps I could help you. I can't say I know much about stone work but perhaps I could follow instructions or carry your tools?"
Xene
"Interesting. I might see if I can join them. I would at least like to meet some of these good Christians. Speaking of the pagan overtones, this sort of magic you practice is aligned to the dominion and your covenant is located in the monastery I spent time in as a youth which I assume still has an aura related to God. Who is the Patron of your covenant?" Xene's curiosity piqued the questions come out of her before Theochariste can answer the first, "Are they in the Heavenly Host? Do you attempt to strengthen them by taking part in the Rite of Propitiation? Do they feel the effects of that rite?"
"Saint Demetrios is the patron of our covenant. I understand it gave the council fits when they tried to establish his willingness to be our patron, I'm not sure if they actually managed to contact him or if they decided to give us the benefit of the doubt due to the nature of our covenant. Our rite of Propitiation is less pagan than most, as we d not offer vis or valuables, but offer merely an artistic symbol of our bond. Telling stories of the saint is of course a fairly regular form of veneration anyways." She smiles at this."Saint Demetrios after all isn't just the patron saint of Thessalonica but the patron saint of the Crusades, and helps unite our Latin brothers with us in defending the faith from the Muslim invaders."
The young mage says nothing but simply gestures to Apollon to go ahead and assist. The maintenance he is doing turns out not to be stonework but a ritual cleaning of the plinth.
As Ioannes is working on her drawing a strange and frightening man, dressed in the garb of a leper with a bell around his waist startles he while asking a question "Suddenly you are face to face with death himself, what do you do?"
"A faster way to find lacunae, and Jerbiton was not interested? You must have had a truly obstinate parens indeed."
After a short moment of shock "I ask him why he is here as it surely can't be my time to leave."
I made 2 rolls
1st The Calm personality roll resulted in 9 what means he is not run away from the leper
2nd The Faerie Lore roll resulted in 9 what means to me that Ioannes is influenced enough by faerie tales that he should try to reason with death who he think at the moment is some creature.
The strange magus wanders off "Interesting"
Not long after the odd leper magus asks the same question of Ionas.
Constantine makes a gesture of uncertainty. "Well, it doesn't find lacunae, it just gets away from the divine. But it works anywhere, you don't need to go searching, you can just do it whereever you want. I thought it would be useful for Nicaea, but it wasn't "beautiful" enough. I wrote a little book about it." He pulls out the tractatus he wrote and hands it over.
