Figure an Aura of 3.
So anyway, the creature hides itself with whirling snow clouds, yet Vocis is able to see it clearly as it roars and skulks off in another direction, blithely unaware that it can be seen.
Hmmm...let's try Painted with Fire on the boulders ahead of him...boosted to Sight makes it level 25...Sta 1 + Re 10 + Ig 7 + aura 3 + roll 2 = 23 and another level of Fatigue lost. They won't hurt him, but they might make him pause or go around. If that doesn't work, it's time for some ineffectual Pila of Fire until Vocis passes out.
(( I was going to do something slightly different -- "The Lonely Apprentice's Funny Glasses", InCo with T: Vision -- but that's not as good an idea on several levels. So I guess Gardaitis is going to try the same thing...
Sta 2 + In 7 + Au 4 + Aura 3 + roll of 7 = 25, /2 = 12.5.
... and succeed, albeit at the cost of a fatigue level. )
((Hmmm, I dunno. What would Batman do? thinks thinks thinks
Sorry, Marko. I'm not Batman. My character isn't either. All he'd ever wanted to do was get past the thing in one piece. He would have assisted other magi if they had shown up because he hopes to apply for membership in Andorra, and not offering to help his prospective covenant would have been selfish and uncouth... but he himself has nothing whatsoever against the beast.))
Gardaitis watches the brute shamble off, and (assuming Vocis doesn't go after it throwing fireballs or something) looks up at the bird. "Again, my thanks for your assistance, to you and to your companion. Without you, things would have gotten quite difficult." He smiles, tucking his axe in his belt. "If I could impose upon you for one more favor... could you or your companion please show us the road to Andorra? My map was eaten by locusts, y'see. Little matter of a Creo Animal spell that got out of control."
Mind you, I an recently charged up on some really good Batman media. Just last night I watched The Dark Knight Returns, parts I & II. Animated movies based upon the Frank Miller graphic novels from the 80's. Really fin' good stuff.
What does it mean to be a hero? What of the sacrifices? The challenges? The moral ambiguity? What happens when everyone seems to turn against you?
I seriously reccomend you watch those two movies.
This link should help you find it and many more.
Nope. You are a magus of Flambeau. The bar is still set just as high
And in the following quoute of your's, I am changing grammer into present tense, instead of past tense. This is what is happening right now, not yesterday
To my ears, that all sounds very cowadly and selfish. Time for a bit of self reflection maybe?
This could be your cathartic moment!!!
Think about what the right thing to do is, not merely what serves you the best.
What would Delendos do?
He probably will. Or something

I do not recal a spell getting out of control.
And technically, you already are in Andorra. It is a small country of five parishes, and you are currently in the Parish of Ordino. You are looking for a covenant of Hermetic magi, said covenant being located in Arans. They call themselves "The Covenant of Andorra" as they are the only covenant in this nation. So yes, it can get confusing since often they covenant is referred to as simply Andorra. In fact, what is your knowledge of Mythic Europe lore as a whole? You might be unaware that such a country even exists and you think you are in France still or even Hispania. In fact, if you have no Mythic Europe Lore, you might not know France exists
Guillaume can use Leap of Homecoming. But in the absence of an arcane connection, he would be happy to try riding a drake while invisible and could offer to make the drake invisible, too. It sounds like an exciting new experience.
Painted in Flames – Cr(Re)Im(Ig) 20 V/C/G
A group of targets are covered in illusory flames. While the flames neither inflict damage nor emit haptic species, they may cause a brief panic among targets that do not recognize the effect as harmless (SG’s discretion). Also, the flames serve to render invisible targets visible and make targets much easier to see in darkness.
(Base 1 +1 for Ignem, +1 for Rego, +2 Voice, +1 Conc, +2 Group)
The flames also look sickly and corrupted due to Vocis's Twilight scar, but...
...with no 'fast' flyers coming, there's no way illusory flames are going to distract it long enough to matter. I don't see a way to stop it without wearing Vocis out with spont illusion spells. There's no way he can penetrate this thing's resistance. He'll just follow it and have Celeste direct the others to it when they arrive.
How do you know for certain? The drakes have only the one magical attack, breating fire, and the thing is supposedly immune to fire and cold. So maybe they did penetrate and it had no effect.
Or maybe it has a might of 127.
Who knows at this point?
Well, his best direct option is his Visions of Hell miniature spell, which is level 30 when boosted to Sight range. Beyond that he has Pilum of Fire, DEO, and Corpus spells that won't affect something this big. Btw, did this thing kill those ogres without a weapon? If so, does that mean the wounds it inflicted are ACs (see Image of the Beast, ArM p. 117)? It won't help much, but Vocis needs whatever he can get.
Gardaitis frowns, looking at the beast's retreating back. "That's odd. If it has control over snow and ice, I would not have expected it to be wreathed in fire, as well. Besides... why would it launch a snow storm and then surround itself in flames?"
He glances up at the bird. "Is that something your companion is doing?"
Oh, it tore them up in short order. Ripped their throats out and such.
I don't wanna throw you a bum steer. You probably have nothing at this moment that can directly affect it. It is just that you don't know for certain.
And yes, claw and tooth marks on the ogre remains can serve as an Arcane Connection.
It just may have that power as well.
I have been dropping hints as to what the creature really is. Some misleading clues as well. But I am confident that once characters start trading information, one of you will figure it out.
So let us bump it along. The Brute wanders away, Vocis can use wounds as an AC, and in short order, the other characters shall have arived.
Only drake present is Maurice though...
Vocis dismisses his invisibility when he sees them, then teleports to near the ogre remains. He also sends Celeste to keep an eye on the Brute, though I don't expect it will be difficult to track.
When the others land, Vocis says The Brute headed in that direction. I honestly couldn't tell if it was scared or bored with my attempts to corral it. I'm leaning toward bored. It seemed to be able to sense magic. It also summoned a small blizzard around itself before leaving, so you may have seen it from the air.
(I'm deliberately ignoring Gardaitis's spirit theory, since I assume he'll join us, introduce himself, and share it himself.)
Gardaitis walks over to the gaggle of magi standing around the corpses, studying their faces, and -- once he's got their attention -- inclines his head. "It is a pleasure to meet you, sodales, and I am grateful for your timely assistance. I am Gardaitis, filius Decima, follower of Flambeau. Most recently of the Rhine tribunal."
His chin jerks up a quarter of an inch as he braces himself for the looks of surprise and scorn. He is well aware of his reputation in the Order. How could he not be?
