Winter Drake Hunt (Winter 1230)

That's our third
I calculate it will take at least three of us. A party of two is doomed.

Can Gardaitis volunteer as well, now that his player is out from under the Huge-Pile-of-Work-Projects?
(<mode=Kenny Chesney> Yeah, I'm talking 'bout shiiiiiiift-work! )

Let us close this thing up
Whomever is in for this last battle, whomever was really itching for a fight and were disappointed when they didn't get in on one, now is your chance.
We stand at the entrance to the salt mines.
Our objective, demand that this dragon leave Las Salines in peace. If he refuses, subdue or slay him as needs be.
It is do or die, there is no try.
Who is ready?

Vulcanus hefts his hammer and booms, "FOR ANDORRA!"

The war-cry echos deep within the cavern, and soon you softly hear a reply growf??
Carmen thumps her forhead Oy vey! I..., anyway. I have my three wards up, and I can put them on each of you if you want. I want to try to parley first, but if anyone feels themselves or another threatened at any moment, do not hesitate to unleash a full blast of fury. Survival is the first law of morality, my father always told me. Worry about subdual after you insure our saftey. Don't be humble. Dragons take that as a sign of weakness.

"I would be happy to take any wards. I could turn some of us invisible, too. Though, of course, turning too many invisible will not help a parlay." Guillaume will have whatever wards anyone will give him plus Cloak of True Invisibility going.

Vulcanus enables the Ward Against Heat and Flames in his armor, but he cannot cast the spell himself, he can only enchant it into items

does Vulcanus accept Carmen's ReAu and ReTe wards? Not likely to be thunder in there, but it is a salt dragon and maybe has the power to throw salt rocks or drop rocks on the head.

Yes, Vulcanus accepts both, as will Egon.

Down into the caverns you go. You turn left, then right. That passage is obviously just for mining, This one is obviously to small for a dragon. This way then that, you spiral downwards.
I will presume someone brought a torch or lantern. If it sputters out or gets too dark, I am sure one of you can spont some light spell upon it. Carmen can. I am just handwaving that part for simplicity.
Only that, just as you light the brighter light source, you spot a goblin carrying a small sack. His expression looks like you just scared the crap outta him, and he bolts for a tiny hole in the wall (Initiative 1d10+2=11)

"Oh no, you don't," Vulc grunts. As fast as lightning (11... if PCs win a tie then great, if not I'll spend a confidence point) Vulcanus throws his hammer at the gobber (attack 5+14=19, for +12 damage).

Guillaume is slightly slower with his fast-cast Pilum of Fire at 5+roll=10. He'll probably spend a point of confidence, but Vulcanus is faster.

Carmen just waves dismissivly at it. Let it go. We got bigger fish to fry. Or is that larger wyrms to salt?
You guys ever fight a dragon before? I have. This is my....
My fifth!! wow!
Well boys, just around any corner now. It's like I said, let me try to parley, and if you think I am in danger or yourself or any other at any instant, do not hesitate to unleash your full fury. Use every ounce of courage, or confidence and cunning. Hold nothing back.
Well Peregrine, it is your show

Vulcanus lifts a hand, and his hammer spins across the room to land with a smack in the palm on his hand. "The goblin certainly knows more about the dragon than we do. Why not take advantage of its incapacitation? That's why I attacked it."

Just leave it be. I know more about dragons than any goblin. I just yold you, this is my fifth one! I know how to hanlde myself. Now be ready, we should stumble upon it any minute now...

"If you've walked away from four dragons without an appreciation for prudence and discretion, then it's nothing short of a miracle you're in one piece today. I don't believe in trusting to luck, though." He'll then question the goblin (which we can skip over IC, if you want).

I dunno $#!+ man, I was just a-lootin'!

"Ah yes. Could you point us in the direction of where the looting was done? Or if you prefer, I could just see how many times I can hit you in the head with my hammer before your skull caves in."

Foooog...
Is a that a waymang...

He points down towards the largest and vastest chamber. There are scattered bones along the trail.
