Wizard's Boost and Great Wizard's Boost

Actually, yes.
This whole thread was difficult for me to read, probably because I'm brain-damaged (I was lost at David's first post :exploding_head:), so I figure I might be a good test subject/ example on how people might (mis-)understand things.

Wizard's boost is clear and comprehensible about not being able to affect a spell higher than itself. The same goes for Wizard's Reach and (WR - 1 Magnitude), which does not include a note about the final level (So a lvl 50 WR can push a lvl 45 spell to lvl 50), so this should really be clarified in the guidelines, IMO. I figure you solved this already ( I remember it being discussed), so, sorry if I'm wasting your time re-threading old ground.
There's also this whole "Targeting a spell which isn't there" issue, which bugged me a few months ago with the Patient Spell + Boreal Flames combo: If Ranulf casts Boreal Flames, but puts it " on hold" until he casts a POF how does targeting work? Does he get to specify the target of Boreal Flames at the moment of release? If not, and he does this the normal way, my understanding (and this goes as well for WB and WR) is that, since the duration of the MuVi spell must encompass the time it takes to cast the targeted spell (this was, after all, the whole point of the errata that led to Wizard's Vigil), you cast it first, and it "lingers" for a turn, affecting the spell you cast in the following turn. Unless, when you cast a Muto Vim effect, you can/ must tell "this will affect Pilum of Fire".

Or... I thought a little more about this: It's almost as if a mage was beginning to cast a Mu Vi spell, "holding on" to it, casting the spell to be modified, and then finished the MuVi spell. This would, at least, explain the need for a concentration roll.

And here's a further question: if a group of magi cast Wizard's Vigil, does it help them on any and all spells cast until sunrise/ sunset?
Thanks for bearing with me.
