I rather envisioned Deiectus's Gauntlet involving his Pater telling him to burn down various things and being annoyed that he just used Perdo on them all. And then when his master threw a bunch of grogs at him, he had a civil discussion instead of burning them all to death.
Okay, finally posting this down since I think I got the math worked out (amid other distractions). Submission for covenant service from Iapetus of Tytalus for approval from the council.
Quiver of Fallen Leaves (MuHe 11)
This is a simple leather quiver with leaf-patterns along the top. It turns appropriately sized sticks (sticks too long can be broken to be the correct size) into functioning arrows. The arrows are sleek and straight, with stiff, thorny tips and 'fletchings' of leaf-material. The arrows only last for a minute, so it minimizes the chance of enemy archers returning fire. The trigger on the change is drawing the sticks OUT of the quiver, which transforms them into a functional arrow for firing. If the arrow-wound caused is not tended quickly after being recieved, the transformation of the smooth shaft into a (likely gnarled) length of tree-branch is going to hurt quite a bit.
It can transform 50 sticks to arrows per day.
Base level 3, +1 'touch' range, +1 diameter duration: level 5
50 uses per day(+6), total enchantment level 11
This is within Iapetus's MuHe lab total (which comes to 22 exactly, though he can get a +5 shape and material bonus for the quiver transforming items inside it). If he could get another +3 or +4 from somewhere, he could make the item unlimited uses. He'll probably spend a day with a bunch of sticks and casting a lot of spontaneous MuHe spells to practice the shaping of the arrows with his embaressingly modest finesse score, if the project is approved.
It sounds like unnatural enough change to justify it being Muto rather than Rego. Lily approves it, and don't forget the +2 GQ on your lab. You can get another +2 by working longer hours, IIRC. (You get long term fatigue, but you can sleep it off later.)
Which season? And is this instead of the drum that would summon a raincloud that I had penciled in for Autumn for Claudia to help him in the lab with? She adds +14 in the lab if she's helping to enchant items.
I'll check which season, but this is NOT instead of. it's a different season/submission of work. And I think I MAY be able to make it unlimited with the extra suggestions from Arya. Doing math.
Summer 1221: Bonding with the lightning lizard as a familiar, if possible. If not, studying Auram.
Autumn 1221: Making the rain-drum with Claudia's assistance! (Practice xp MT)
Winter 1222: Designing the Quiver of Fallen Leaves and crafting it expertisefully (practice xp MT)
Spring 1222: Reading Aumam summa, this one is amazing. (Q16 Auram, 1 pen 1 fin)
The familiar's lizard who breathes lightning (CrAu). My lab total for bonding the familiar is Cr 7 + Au14 + Int 4 + MT 3 + Aura 10 = 38.

Those are all fine. Again, you've forgotten the +2 General Quality on your lab, though, so you can bind the lizzerd with a LT of 40. You can use that for cord scores of +2, +2, +1, or +3, +1, +1.
In summer of 1221, while Iapetus is using the vis from his lizard's chrysalis to bind her as a familiar, he discovers that she eats twice a season. She swallows an animal whole, and spits up its bones a week later; the bones from each meal contain one pawn of Auram vis.
(This can be hoarded personally, or made a covenant vis source. Since the lizard was originally a covenant vis source it may be prudent to register it to the covenant, as a source worth 8 pawns Auram per annum.)

I need to fix my spreadsheet, methinks.
EDIT: YEah, I forgot most of why I had my lab in the first place. With the lab bonuses from Aislynn's lab and the aura, my Creo Animal total is actually sitting at 50

This who Vis Source/Iulia/Blackthorn debacle has made Iapetus a little grumpy about such things. Will this registering last even if Iapetus leaves the covenant for some reason?
Yes, it wiould.
