Sorry, but I just choked laughing at that

I can never pass up an opportunity for a Firefly reference

On the plus side, if Jormungand does actually follow her and do a fertility ritual, just before she potentially nails Valerian, that'd be fortuitous :stuck_out_tongue: and if she can't close that deal, she'll pop to Durenmar and take her best shot at Petrus Virilis.

She'd try for Petrus first, except she's pretty sure he'd just tell her to go away.

Valerian has taken an LR

Hey, miracles can happen.

Though the biologist in me twitches at the idea of LRs causing sterility unilaterally. I could see an LR upsetting a woman's fertility, since there's so much more mechanics involved, but for a man? Unless the LR involves scissors, men should remain fertile after LR.

Jormungand is still fertile...

L would make a try for Petrus Virilis first, since he would essentially guarantee a Gifted child.

She'd still flirt outrageously with Valerian and then demur at the last minute, out of false prudence.

Well, nothing is guaranteed. In any event, they share similar personal vis sources...

Random question about that - if I use "Gather the Essence" to move the "vis" content into another storage container, does it still bear an arcane connection to me? I'm sure it's been answered somewhere in the Errata or boards, but I don't know the answer.

And if all apprentices were required to be referred to as "discipulus", were Lamentus and Maribus really bad about that, since everyone calls Aequi "Nick(y)"? and we all call Schmuel by his name?

I thought that was a peculiarity of the Gallus Florensis's covenant charter. At least,I don't recall seeing such a stricture anywhere else before.

Doh! Sorry, wrong OOC thread... I shouldn't make so many posts jacked up on NyQuil...

Is there any client confidentiality for Advocates? I can't see the prosecutor/advocate setup working if advocates can be required to testify against their clients. OTOH I can't see any Quaesitor defending someone who, say, assassinated the Byzantine Emperor, if their client gave full confession.

The way I see it working is:

  • If a magus retains a quaesitorial advocate's services, that Quaesitor cannot be required to give testimony against his client, but:
  • Members of the Order are not guaranteed the right to legal representation.
Thus, if Adjudicus of Guernicus witnesses Darius of Flambeau murder Baldwin of Flanders, the Flambeau can't subsequently retain the Quaesitor's services as an advocate to circumvent being prosecuted. Likewise, an advocate should be perfectly within his rights to refuse to defend OJ Simpson.

Only thing I can't figure is what the Order would do to police advocates who might be complicit in helping guilty people get away with high crimes-- which it should. But OTOH no one would ever work as an advocate if they risked being convicted of being an accessory to someone else's crime.

Rulings/thoughts/suggestions/help?

I'm going to say that if you spend a day to transfer vis to another container, it breaks the connection, since the AC is your bodily fluid, not the vis.

See earlier statement in Albion, about posting before caffeinating.

Heading to work now, where I will consume tea before checking forums again. :stuck_out_tongue:

It's my policy to just read the overnight posts, when I get up. I grab the iPad and review. I then shower and ruminate. Eat breakfast and get my daughter's lunch ready. Then I drive in and ruminate some more. Then I review log files, and ruminate, then I post. Sometimes I'll post before reviewing log files, but not often. Of course, during the commute and log file reviews I'm caffienating heavily...

Sorry for the delays without posting, had a quick impromptu vacation and didn't have much chance to check anything. I'll be catching up. From what I saw I wasn't missed much. :frowning:

Laetitia misses Alexei. She just doesn't know it yet!

I'm tempted to retcon the time they met, when he said he'd like to be of use, to think "Where were you last month, buddy?" :stuck_out_tongue:

"But, Quaesitor, performing such dramatic theatrics where none are required would be...illogical."

What month is it now?

You just made me snort tea out of my nose

Au contraire mon frare, Apollodorus is waiting to tell you he's taking Mufarjj with him...
