This is where Transforming mythic Europe factors in, if you want to have variety. Somewhere in the past a magi brought a bunch of things to Europe. You can choose to have the magi get to the Americas, if you want.
The travels of Marco Polo, Magellan, Columbus, etc are trivial for a magi.
Synastisia: not sure if it would be considered a flaw or a virtue. It’s extremely crossed senses(think hearing light or seeing sound:something like that)
Normally big flaw. The character is functionally blind and deaf, while sometimes getting weird insights others do not. The functionally blind and deaf is serious.
The setting is magic though, so one can easily do wacky stuff (such as Daredevil being able to read a paper because of the different texture in the ink). If you want it to be super senses, such as they can see in the dark, because they smell the wood and therefore "see" the walls, that is an option.
