A tricksy faerie had a game to play. The rumors of Oliverius and his rival had spawned a few braggadocious stories, which caught the attention of a faerie. The faerie came to offer information regarding a temple of Mercury to Oliverius, and to threaten to tell the same information to his rival. Calling in assistance, he found Gloriana a good source of information on dealing with such faerie deals; The experienced maga helped him discuss a proper interaction with the faerie (Faerie Lore success). Having obtained the promised map, Oliverius and a few others from the covenant - notably the intrigued Gloriana and the adventurous Andros - followed the faerie map to the Mercurian temple. Ever eager to show his glory, the Flambeau magus lead the way into the decrepit buildings. The first magical trap bounced off of his protection, and he bravely soldiered on, the other decrepit protection spells unable to affect him in any significant way (Parma Magica success). The defenses were a good sign that they were on to something - but the final door was locked with an ancient magical riddle. Despite the fact each magus was competent in the magical arts, Oliverius insisted on directing the inquiries into the riddle himself - he couldn't let the others show him up! Still, with a few helpful suggestions (that he didn't particularly felt he needed, but the others arrived at certain conclusions faster!) Olvierius was able to arrange the spells to use to crack open the lock, opening a regio for them to study(Magic Theory success)
Descending into the regio, the adventuring magi found a large number of bronze statues standing guard, and the watchful Viviane (newly brought out of the covenant so Francesco could teach her more about dealing with troublesome magi in her work) noticed some of the statues were adjusting position subtly to watch them (awareness success). This called for a level of care, as even if the defensive spells could not penetrate a strong Parma Magica, the grogs and the less-adventurous Oliverius may be at modest risk. The group began to find a stealthier path through the temple regio to avoid the more animated bronze guards (stealth success). Nothing is ever perfect, and the party finally found the deepest room of the temple, and were surrounded by massive bronze statues. The animating guardians were upon them, but the quick-acting Ubon helped push through the metal monstrosities, since his bow was useless against them, and they kept the animated statues from delivering any significant wounds while the magi disabled them (Brawl success).
Victorious, the magi explored the temple now that the guardians had been deactivated, or perhaps acclimated to the magi's presence. It was on their way out that the magi and their grogs ran into trouble again - a large number of surprisingly well-armed soldiers accosted them outside the regio, sent by Oliverius's rival! Their arms and armor were enhanced, and it turned into a very difficult fight. Simian Rex was able to claim a high perch in the trees and help guide the heroic and outnumbered grogs into an advantagous position (Leadership success!) while Francesco and Vivianne shielded the more fragile of the group (Single weapon success). Ubon's bow was more useful here, as was the skilled sword-work of the Viviane and the experienced Francesco. With Oliverius's newly-enchanted hammer brought into play, a few lucky blows were able to send destructive magics rippling through the well-organized grogs - their ensorcelled armor was resistant to the shattering, but suddenly snapping limbs can take out a lot of advantage in numbers (Warhammer/Break the Fragile Bodies). The group leaves the rival grogs alive but unable to fight, and returns with their findings from the temple.

REWARDS:

2 rewards Oliverius: Notch on flaw, Resonant Materials for Terram (bronze plates engraved with the face of Mercury); 2 rewards Andros; 2 rewards Gloriana. Sybilla and the grogs were very helpful, but Oliverius is magi-centric, unless they have really neat needs to catch his interest.

Basically: Aurthor wants to visit a great monastery famous for its extensive collection of ancient greek texts. They found the place infested by demons, banished by the group. The recent infernal activity caused serious problems with the Church superiors, Pazzino and Danaë manage to circumvent the authorities and win the trial against the monks. Finally Aurthor can make his research in the monastery library where he finds some texts written in Hyperborean.

Hi silveroak, regarding adventure (14) how many rewards I have to assign for a source of insight?

typically inspiration should be sought after with quest points. Depending on what inspiration you seek it may be more or less difficult, and you can build towards discovery over multiple adventures (uncover a rumor in one, or a text that refers to such an insight, etc...)

As a note, I think it was adventure (14) not (4). For book-keeping purposes. I'll hammer out (8) tonight or tomorrow if nobody gets it. It's a simple fight, so shouldn't take long.

The party travelling to Tribunal needs to be careful, with the chaos left in the wake of the war-torn Italian countryside. Thankfully, careful they are, and the alert grogs spot the ambush well before it's unleashed (Awareness success). BANDITS! And very well-armed ones as well, it seems. This group has scavenged arms and armor off of the dead from the war, but they can't easily overcome the smaller group due to the experienced training and vicious skill of the grogs (Single weapon success). It's only a matter of trading blows a bit before Andros can land a hit with the hammer, which causes the bandits scavenged armor to explode in shrapnel, which ends the fight pretty quickly.
Thankfully, the magi can get the rest of the way to tribunal without any significant trouble.

Two rewards: 4 XP, reward to Arduino (Correspondence in MT), and +reputation to Oliverus for the excessive power he imbued into his hammer for no good reason. XD
