Betweentimes at Bentalone

Yep, she’s still very green.

I could swap around so that Ursula and Miguela teach/train the twins in parallel and swap, and then the twins have the Summer together with two knights to train them in great weapon. That would give them an extra 4xp each in magic lore. However, that would make Ursula a very hardworking lass, with only one season of her own time in 1198. I won't push it, but you are the arbiter on the Potentes' time, @Ignes.Festivus.

I’d say for now keep their 2 Seasons/year free as normal. This will allow them to become more competent in the long run. Doubt they’d be up for 3 Seasons work/year without some powerful incentive.

  1. I would appreciate you advancing the grogs, but I would ask that you do so seasonally instead of a flat 15xp/yr.
  2. training can only be used to teach one character at a time.

@silveroak when does Gerard get the text on teaching he requested/how good is it?

There has been some demand to settle the book purchases.

EDIT: The Ignem book has been replaced with L12Q19 (instead of L14Q14). Does anyone object.

Here is a suggested timeline, based on the list that was posted. Format is (season number - season first available - (levels available at that time). (effective level of book/accumulated book leves). Ability summa levels are multiplied by three for the effective (accounting) level.

    1. Autumn 1298 (12). (12/12) magic theory Level:4 Quality:14 (BP:26)
    1. Spring 1299 (36). (15/27) Magic Lore Level:5 Quality:13 (BP:28)
    1. Summer 1299 (48). (12/39) Ignem L12Q19 (BP:31)
    1. Autumn 1299 (60). (15/54) Intelligo Level:15 Quality:16 (BP:31)
    1. Winter 1299 (72). (14/68)) Vim Level:14 Quality:17 (BP:31)
    1. Spring 1200 (84). (9/77) Infernal Lore L3Q17 (BP:26)
    1. Summer 1200 (96). (12/89) Dominion Lore L4Q16 (BP:28)

When it comes to the order. If anyone needs any of the books within the timeframe, please disclose it. I am sure we can shuffle them to suit actual needs; Jerome has none so I don't care. I have just been guessing. Gerard also seems to have completed his advancement without any of these books, so that leaves three people who might have an opinion.

@silveroak Is that right with the first book available in Autum 1298? I.e. order sent in the Spring, scribing in Summer, and delivery ready for Autumn? Or should it start later?

Total 79 levels.
Cost 79 pvf.

I'm OK with the proposed delivery order. I definitely think the 12/19 one would be better. IIRC that would mean all arts I haven't invested exp into would take only a season to get to 5. Th
at's not as important now that both of Gerard's
kids are taken but it's still a precaution worth taking in case a new opportunity for getting an apprentice comes up.

Don't worry about getting the Ignem book Gerard would prefer, he'd only get one season out of the higher one anyway. (Affinity) I'm good with above.

I updated the original post with the other Ignem book.

BTW. Who's casting Aegis? At what level?

The teaching summae is available one year after it was requested, it is L:4 SQ:16

@silveroak I don't remember if I ever got a reply on what info I got from this roll.

There are several lakeshore establishments in town which advertise something about healing waters- while not an uncommon claim it seems to have drawn a bit of traffic from the nearby trade route, and the further south one goes in town the greater the concentration of such claims...

Since nobody has objected, I copy this into the wiki.

Apparently, nobody can cast the aegis. Is that right? That saves us a lot of vim vis, and the vis hunters need not hurry home  ... but if the demon chases Jerome home, it has a free reign ...

Right, that's a bit of an oversight... Lutra has pretty decent ReVi total, so I can fumble around his seasons a little and make space for Aegis. Shame we don't have a lab text for it though.

It can probably be procured. @silveroak never got around to making the catalogue tractatus and lab texts from the redcap mail order service ... I think he said it was on his TODO list... worth asking.

And we would of course have noticed the oversight in 1218 ...

I have added casting tablets to the covenant to cover an aegeis, as well as the lab text list for the redcaps.

Gerard is going to order the books below at the end of tribunal if nobody objects:

Perdo Level:14 Quality:15 (BP:29)
Rego Level:15 Quality:15 (BP:30)
Creo Level:19 Quality:14 (BP:33)
Ignem Level:14 Quality:14 (BP:28)

@silveroak what is the vis price?

Typhannie would never object to a higher level Rego book. She's probably not gonna learn the Ignem book, but that's her personall choice, and she's not gonna protest having Ignem books.

On what basis do you figure these books are available? If you wanted to take time at the tribunal to investigate book availability we should have handled that at the tribunal. In particular the Creo book you list would be a major collection piece for a covenant and only be for sale in the most desperate of situations.

They are from the Redcap list - sorry, should've said.
