OMG! That is so awesome!!!!!
I just reread the whole thing, and I was able to picture the scenario panel by panel. The bit at the end threw me a bit. And that is the most dangerous part!
!!!
Um, OOC, Isaac has a magic item that maintains concentration on spells indefinitely. Ask him for help. Please, I beg you!
Or a day long version of MTDS cast at sunrise & sunset should work.
We rest and prepare ourselves today. At sunset, the Dragon is taking us to the Island of Pantelleria. We rest there that night and make all final preparations that day. Then, at sunset tomorrow we head for Ferdinadnea, where the gateway known as the Arc of Fire is located. We strike at dawn, which as Isaac just mentioned, is a time tested and classic strategy.
Isaac, upon hearing what Marie has managed to do* Isaac blances a little.
GottinHimmeldonnermal! Excuse me a moment...
He then heads to Marie's sanctum with as much speed as his tired legs can muster and offers the use of his talisman through the door in words as simple as he can manage. Assuming Marie accepts, he leaves the marble with her but remains in the vicinity, superstitiously not wanting to take his shield too far away from the spell it's maintaining.
Mer de Glace! I fought a tribe of blizzard-faeries there once. I wonder where they are now?
from Viola, or someone in her orbit, I'm assuming
I am at the library (my internet cut out), so I am nowhere near my books. For the glacier and size, I am just going to handwave it. It is an awesome idea and a well written scene. Not establishing a precendent ruling or anything, just moving forward.
Relieved of her glacial worries, Marie resets her watching spell to get her home when she either says home (in German "Heim"), or when she gets knocked out(incapacitated).
I am going to have to make an accounting of the covenant vis we are using up. FAR less than the thousand for the ransom demand, but it will dent our reserves a little.
Ameline speaks softly. "let us rest and then we can head to the ring of fire. AFter we rescue Carmen, I wish to make a slight detour on way back to the covenant. The rest will be good for all of us. I will just see that our guests have comfortably place to rest and food before I take my own rest." The sister then heads to see if the drakes or dragon need anything to be comfortable.
Ken will have to speak for the drakes. As for Sigmundo, he and Antonio have moved to private chambers for discussions.
Unless anyone has something specific to add, I shall move us along a day. At sunset we head to the island of Pantelleria, just south of the Arc of Fire (Ring of Fire is a Johnny Cash song, and the title of the movie about him I think; Johnny Cash was awesome ).
We shall rest there the whole day, and head off the following sunset.
As far as a detour on the way back, Rodrigo has no complaints. But he is curious as to your objective.
Focusing on his own thoughts, Vares listens to the others debate strategy while contemplating his own.
"Divide his forces if possible. Some may be turned against him with the proper incentive."
He looks at Ameline. "If you can convert him to your way of thinking, you may achieve your design instead."
He bows out of the ongoing debate. "I have something else I need to explore..."
With that, he is gone.
OOC: Unless Marko wants me to stay for the rest of this thread--and I won't be posting anything else about my concerns regarding the Divine in that span--Vares will simply vanish from the Saga at the point. His lab, should it be investigated, will be missing nothing except him and what he was wearing. Examination of any traces left behind will lead nowhere. The assumption should be that he has entered an indefinite Twilight.
Ameline has no vis pouch. There is no magic about her that is obvious. There is a proper order to things though even though magic in the world is important.
