Hamish turns to Nauvi and Finn.
"Got any tricks to get this open? Could try to bash it open but thats gonna make a racket of noise."
Finn looks over to the sound from the church and moves to investigate. “I hear something from the church” he says to the others before moving to investigate.
He sees the vicar in the middle of the courtyard, drawing fresh air, and looking to both sides.
Did Finn try to sneak? It takes a 9+ to go completely unnoticed, and 6+ to get behind the church before he is seen.
Finn roles 4 (no botch) and spends 2 confidence to get the required 9+ stealth roll.
The vicar heads on to the latrine¹

Finn will follow and keep an eye on him
Nauvi looks for something to tie the guards up with, and removes their weapons.
"I can get the lock, but it will involve shouting the words out - we need to make sure these men are restrained before I risk waking them." He then addresses the girl "Are you ready to leave this place? We are giving you this chance to escape - if you don't take it, you will have to face Wulfric and his lack of mercy."
Hamish nods to Nauvi.
"Best bet is for me to clock 'em over the head hard and truss 'em up. Keep yer eye on that one there, while I do this one."
Hamish looks down at the pommel of his sword and shrugs.
"This is gonna hurt."

Finn can see the vicar well enough from where he stands at the corner of the church. If he wants to follow, a new and harder stealth roll is needed, something which is quite obvious to Finn.
Assuming that he does not risk it, the vicar returns to the courtyard after a couple of minutes. Again he stops in the middle of the courtyard, listening, and scratching his head. Then he walks towards Finn's corner.
In the meantime, Hamish has knocked both of the guards in their heads, almost certainly causing a concussion, but there is no bleeding, and they are no more conscious than they were under Nauvi's sleep spell, but still breathing.
The vicar in the courtyard is out of sight from the cage, but Finn's corner is not. It is dark, though, so Finn is hard to see in the shadow of the church (awareness 15+). The cage is in an open yard, so the people there are easier to make out at a distance, though it is still non-trivial (awareness 6+).
Finn pulls his hood up and closes his cloak about him and steps out to meet the priest well before he gets to the corner “Father, I have been looking for you. I would like to make a donation to the church funds before I leave and I did not want to hand it to any but yourself. Dermal MacShane is the name, please to meet you. Perhaps we could discuss what you could use the donation for over a cup of ale. Do you have some at your house good priest?” Leading him by the arm away from the main group (rolled Charm+Com 12)
Hamish looks over at Nauvi. "The lock?"
The big guy looks at the young woman.
"Don't fret now, lassie. We're here to save from trouble, not hurt you."
«Dermal McShane? That's very generous ... but ... at this ungodly hour?» asks the vicar suspiciously. «I am afraid the sheriff's men have had all the ale in the village, anyway. Nothing but water left.» The vicar does follow Finn's lead, more befuddled than convinced.
The prisoner is not too convinced either, mostly afraid and a little bit hopeful, but she nods to Hamish' reassurances.
Nauvi loudly exclaims and gestures wildly to try and turn the lock through magic.
[OOC: rolled 25 on a ReTe spont, so I get level 12 and the effect on C&G page 78 that I am trying to replicate is only level 10. I can spend up to 2 confidence to over come the aura. Do I get any bonus for loud vocals and bold gestures?]
"Water will do fine if it is all there is to be had. So Father how would the church make use of say 5 shillings? I need to know it will go to the needy before I make the offering" smiles Finn as they move off.
With the loud and bold voice, the lock snaps open¹. The vicar stops in his tracks. «What's that chanting. Is something going on here?»

"It sounds like those soldiers who drank all the ale trying to hold a tune to me father, think nothing of it. lets get to the warmth of your home before I freeze to death" says Finn

«Right¹,» says the vicar, and yawns. «You sure this cannot wait till the morning?» he asks as you walk towards the back door of the church.

"Come", Nauvi tells the girl, "this is the only chance you'll get before Wulfric comes back. Let's leave this night, get to another village before dawn." He opens the cage and beckons her to come out.
“If you are tired father I will come back tomorrow before I leave. A good night to you” replies Finn ensuring the priest goes in to his home. Finn watches the house for a few minutes to ensure he does not come out again. If he does not he makes his way back to the caged girl.
