Chapter 5a - Of Ancient Days and Long Lost Nights

OOC: Shnikeys.

IC: Pausing for but a brief moment longer looking about, Ludo then ducks through the nearest door which just happens to be the door to the house ( I presume? ). As he moves he draws his shortsword in a smooth motion with one hand and advances low, forcefully and quickly, like a man in the open in a gunfight. Bounding in through the door ( assuming it is not locked or barred? ) what does he see?

You see a guard at the door with a spear pointed at your head. He asks Captain Alexanro for his orders, Alexandro looks to Octavian...

Falls, you notice one cottage nearby, it seems very much darker than the others. Almost as if it radiates shadows...

Witnessing Ludoviccio's sudden appearance--and the strange manifestation of another landscape behind him, Vares asks his fellow Magus, "Where have you been? We couldn't find you."

Then he notes Ludo's manner and apprehension. "To whom are you referring? Did someone else cross through with you?"

OOC: Marko, noted on the unusual clarity in the surrounding region.

Did he glimpse anything when he saw the landscape "behind" Ludo? No penetration of Ludo's own Vim Resistance, of course (not that he'd be trying), but he can see Arcane Connections at present--and if there were some in effect on the "other side", he may have been able to note them. As well as the Astrological Time in that region.

The "other side" in this circumstance would be the Mentem Province of the Twilight Void. You prolly saw nothing, but if you did it would have been pure thought and emotion made manifest.

Ludo has had a rough time.

Appraising Ludoviccio's condition, Vares waits for an explanation while adopting a similarly watchful mode, scanning the environment. "If you can tell me what or whom you're looking for, I can help you find it."

After a short rest to recover the energy I've spent, I fly in to investigate, checking around the perimeter for danger. If it looks safe, I'll look inside as well.

As you approach, four shadowy phantasms of Metron appear around and about you. With a sinister and raspy voice, he says (they say) [color=red]Hold, I wish to seek a parley with you

Inigo glares at Metron, his body tense and ready for anything. [color=red]I’m listening, coward. Speak quickly, or begone, lest I test your bravery again and find you wanting.

What do I know about Metron? Is he a total stranger to me?

You know him by reputation (Infernalist Master 3, Enemy of the Order 4)

Metron was one of the Flaming Shadows of Jaferiya. His original parens was named Orion of Flambeau, but he “mysteriously disappeared” when he began to question the ways of Rasus. Rasus took over the lad’s apprenticeship and filled his head full of lies. Just as the Knights of Seneca and a few other Flambeau traditions believe in the Legend of the Lumina (as allegory mostly), Rasus told Metron his blood was of the anti-lumina, the Flaming Shadow.

When events wend down at that now infamous tribunal of 1207, whilst Rasus was arguing against the accusations, Metron slipped away and fled into hiding. In 1214, befor that year’s tribunal, Trentus of Flambeau caught up with Metron at the Silver Rooster and they had their brawl. Apparently Metron had gained access to the Portal and has been hiding out in the magic realm for the past six years. The experience has obviously had a transformative effect upon him.

He speaks with a ghostly and raspy voice, one of his Phantams does the speaking whilst the others watch.
[color=red]I knew they would come for me one day, I have been expecting it for some time now. But I plead innocent of anything you hold against me. I know now how ignorant Rassus was, how foolish he was, how very wrong he was. A deluded and tragic fool. All I desire is to be left in peace, here in my little sanctum.
And as suspicious and sinister as he may seem, his words sound honest and convincing.

(OOC: Octavian is on the second floor looking outside with the use of Prying Eyes spell to determine what the commotion was. So for now Ludo has the initiative of sorts so he can react to having a spear in his face)

Ludo's eyes widen in surprise, looking around the room quickly. Slowly he straitens and sheathes his shortsword, hands settling on his belt as his eyes settle more heavily first upon the guard and then upon Alexandro... his gaze intense. His own expression is masked by the scarf within the hood of his robes, yet his eyes visibly narrow as the two fall under his scrutiny. His manner is veritably trepidatious, falling back a step or two to stand in the still open doorway. [color=red]"What is this?! How are you here? Bah! Where or What 'IS' here?"

[OOC: At this point he is wondering if what he is seeing is real, the landscape's oddness and unexpectedly running into these people here. So he is using his second sight and whatnot to try and ascertain whether they really are who/what they are or if they are something pretending to be his friends etc. I'm proceeding assuming he sees nothing untoward.]

Seeing as Octavian is not there, Alexandro turns to Vares [color=red]I am placing him under your charge. The spear grog lowers his guard and lets you in.

Crossing through the doorway from the outside, you stepped down into a simple and transparent regio from the Magic Realm (the house is a regio, outside in Perdut is the magic realm). Inside there is the enourage from Andorra, there is some woman tied to a chair and one of the grogs (Carlos) is playing with a small child.

Having overheard what was transpiring from the 2nd floor, the Tremere makes his way down the stairs. "I would ask the same thing of you master Ludovico." His voice is soft but chilling. "Your last whereabouts known to us were that you allegedly departed the Silver Rooster with the comedian who you expressed anger towards in tow. Despite not sharing a common tongue." He approaches with measured paces. His hands hidden in his sleeves. "Moreover, you were able to enter the confines of this habitation without invitation thus one can conclude you had gone ahead of the expedition with or without the consent of Barcelona magi; without our ascent."

He smiles faintly. "I seem to recall master Ludovico requesting my support for his candidacy in joining Andorra. Words are wind when compared to the actions taken." He stops to stand behind the bound woman.

Ludovico blinks, still somewhat shocked and disoriented seeming, as Octavian comes down the stairs. He pulls his hood and scarf down revealing a rather frustrated visage. [color=red]"I went to investigate the 'Fire Angel' rumors we heard about. Obviously a matter quite near and pertinent to my usual area of interest. While I was there I encountered Magus Erat Caecus. I don't know if he knew I was coming there somehow or not, but he claimed in first instant to want to help me revenge myself upon Abaddon. Clearly he thought I was a fool, to trust him a second time."

Angrily Ludo pulls his gloves more snuggly onto his fingers, shaking his head with a grimace. [color=red]"I did however accompany him, for he claimed to have a means of entering Val Negra without having to enlist the aid of Barcelona." He holds up the key in his palm as he says this. [color=red]"Which apparently was not a completely worthless idea, however obviously didn't function as intended. They had several of these, Erat and his fellow conspirator Magus Terrance of Flambeau. They were experimenting and the laboratory they were using exploded quite violently... and then I stumbled onto the stoop here. Now I wonder how you lot have managed to get here before me when last I knew everyone was going to turn in for the night? Or is this 'you have been keeping secrets' line of thing only applicable to me?"

[OOC: Sorry about ignoring this, I wasn't quite sure what our mutual situation was, and I was asking what I could see and whatnot to get clarity. So you are in the same room as Ludo?

Where is everyone? Can I get a brief recap of the situation for my own SA?]

One of the disadvantages of suddenly stumbling onto the scene is that you are unaware of what happened before you got there
Vares is in the room, as is Alexandro. The three grogs are at guard stations and patroling the house. Octavian heard the noise you made coming in and came down stairs to see what is up.

Inigo is outside dealing with the Flaming Shadow.

I should also note that Ludo is as of yet unaware that any time has passed, though OOC it appears he knows he doesn't know and is acting accordingly.

(OOC Mark, who would Terrance of Flambeau be (order of hermes check)?Unless he means Terrace of jerbiton or Trentus of Flambeau?)

He nods. "Although I loathe to apply double standards, it is quite the fair assessment considering the circumstances." He explains. "Master Ludovico, you were accepted among the expedition with the understanding you would be providing assistance and not secretly depart to pursue your own agenda and consorting with individuals wishing to undermine Andorra's efforts."

He seems unbothered at any hostility. "While your honesty might have been considered an atonement or apology, your show of indignation and resentment demonstrate a lack of sincerity." His demeanour seems to lighten bizarrely. "Nevertheless, master Ludovico should be relieved. All evidence indicates that master Abaddon is already deceased."

Yes, he indeed means Trentus.

Inigo spits on the ground in front of him. [color=red]You expect mercy, clemency, from me? You gave up your right to peace when you dealt with the Infernal, fled Tribunal, and became an enemy of our Order. Your innocence is for a Tribunal and a quaesitor to decide. If you truly are innocent, drop your protective spells, dispel your Parma, and be escorted back out of this place. Otherwise, I and others like me will come, and keep coming, until you are slain and your remains burned and sown with holy water.

If Metron shows even the slightest sign of refusal, Inigo multicasts Wizard’s Icy Grip to hit as many shadows as he can.
