Chapter 8: The Bone Merchant

Aelianus cast another sand spell. Yet again Aelianus tries to summon enough sand around a fleeing group to capture some fleeing mundanes. He tires to spread the sand so that adult will be up to their waist with sand.

Base level 1 (create sand) + 2 voice + 1 diameter duration + 1 for extra size = total level 5

Creo 12+ Terram 0+ Cyclic magic 3+ gestures and voice 2=17 +dice 2 invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2415274/ = 19/2 = 9,5

Finesse roll for spell casting: Finesse 1 + 1 for specialisation with precision + 6 from dice invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2415276/ = 8

Roberto forces Marcello to drop his sword when the spell hits. Marcello falls to one knee trying to control his hands.

Between Aelianus, Halvard and the Knights you have captured most of them ( that Marcello did not kill). No runners got away.

Halvard:

Now that we have them, what are we going to do with them?

[color=red]Investigate and interrogate them! Use Mentem if you need to! Right now I am dealing with a situation!
Roerto takes Marcello's sword away and attempts to talk with him.
[color=red]Marcello! Hear me, you have been afflicted by the devils, they have driven you mad by preying upon your anger. You know that the bible says that all children are forgiven, there is no such thing as a damned child and there is so sin that cannot be redeamed by the infinite power of Christ. The demons are messing with your mind, you need to resist them!

Aelianus walks to the trapped mundanes with Diodorus at his feet. Diodorus hisses at the captured mundanes. Can someone speak with these mundanes? Please translate for me. First off all it must be clear that I can kill you and your children in a instant. The only reason that you still are alive is that I believe that you have information that I need. Enough with the threats and give me my answers. Why did you attack us? Who gave you that order? Where can we find them?

Diodorus will walk to the large human who was better fed than the others. He pulls out his claws on his pright front paw, hiss and scratches the man (in the face if possible). The scratch should be hard enough to draw blood but not injure the man in anyway (no more injuries than would occur from washing a cat). Then he returns to Aelianus feet.

Iolar lands behind Aelinius and resumes her human form , for the moment she says nothing as she suspects these poor lost souls do not speak latin or any other language she speaks. For that matter she does not think they are going to understand any language Aelinius speaks

I try to say it in Occitan (Provencal). This should work somewhat, even if using the correspondances from Lion and the Lily

((sorry for the delay. work and procrastination have delayed my response))

Large, well-fed "beastman" aarrggh! Ium gohin thu craghk youm bongs eh eaft youm art!! Smeghl if kinhg ofh tis forhest!

Everyone near the cave have a bad feeling as if something is wrong. Some feel sick to their stomachs while others have nagging feelings. You feel like their is something in the corner of your vision but it is gone if you look.

Marcello seems to be struggling in controlling himself. He is not responding to Roberto.

Does Second sight reveal anything like a spirit nearby?
Iolar
I think perhaps a malign spirit may be nearby and spreading its influence over Marcello
OCC Pity we left Kilica behind this looks like a situation for Sense Holy/Unholy to be useful

Second sight rolls target=8
Havlard
1d10+1=9

Iolar
1d10+2=5

Havlard:
There is a boundary of something at the mouth of the cave. It looks like the air is sicken.

On a hunch, Roberto tries casting Demon's Eternal Oblivion on Marcellus, in an attempt to purge any spirit that may be afflicting him. If that fails, Roberto tries to spont a PeVi effect to dispell infernal powers. If that fails, Roberto will presume it is because his Perdo was insufficient, so he shouts out to Wirth asking for emergency assistance.

No visible effect with the DEO. no visible effect with the PeVi.

Iolar is clearly trying to think of something useful to do having so far worked out that she cando nothing useful with mentem magic as she is too weak in that art to create a useful effect on Marcello.
(OCC The second sight roll would have been 1 better as Iolar is currently an Eagle and has a better perception, not that it makes any difference. )

Diodorus can track this human. If we can’t get anything useful out from him then we should use some mentem magic on him so that he runs to his master. Then Diodorus can track him. Aelianus pause for a moment. Now I don’t like this place so we should get going. I can’t understand a word that comes out of the mans mouth.

Wirth

Destroying demons is not my strong point. But I can end this.

Wirth casts The Call to Slumber on Marcello: +17 + Aura + 1d10=3 = 20 + Aura.
Spell level is 10, so Penetration is 10 + Aura + 3 (+ 1 mentem specialty) = 14 + Aura

(My fault for forgetting the eagle form)

Iolar notices another "boundary" that extends to the stream. Reminds her of a regio boundary.

Marcello falls asleep. No aura effects your casting.

Wirth

That's done. I say we explore the cavern, then follow Diodorus suggestion

It looks to me that there is a Regio inside the cave mouth and along to the stream so expect things to change suddenly if you move into one of the areas

[color=red]Someone needs to bind Marcello, for his own safty as well as ours.
Looks at the area where the others claim is a regio boundary.
Puts on his "game face"
[color=red]Let's do this thing...

Aelianus looks at Diodorus. Get ready to track the mundane and keep close to me. Aelianus holds onto his enchanted casting tools and gets ready to follow Roberto. Thinking “I must keep even pace with the show-off Flabeau, I am the master of Ignem magic". Diodorus gets ready to track the mundane.
