Could you move him back to this thread until he's been approved? The Characters threads are intended for finalised characters (Cuchulainshound's shouldn't really be there either).

Other comments:

  • His version of Bind Wounds won't work on himself, due to his size. Similarly Wizard's Sidestep. Doublet of Impenetrable Silk I think is fine, though (as your shirt is still going to be less than one standard Individual of Animal).
  • Can he actually manage the lab total to learn even the standard target Wizard's Sidestep? Similarly the three vis spells (one of which I think you've typoed the Arts for)?
  • I think the free Personality flaw you get from Mythic Blood counts towards your two Personality Flaws
  • I think the Mythic Blood Ward Against Heat and Flames power should be base 4 rather than base 5?
  • I think you've overspent xp by 5? I'd expect him to have 45 + 5 x 15 + 240 = 360 xp, whereas he's actually got (235 - 5 free second sight) in abilities + 135 xp in Arts = 365xp
  • I think his Incapacitated Wound range should be 22-28 rather than 22-29, and Dead should be 29+ rather than 30+
  • He's got no experience with life outside a covenant but has Meddler? That's going to be fun.
  • Do his Favours result from anything in particular, or just his apprenticeship?
  • Wishbone is an odd name - I assume there's a story behind it?

Note I haven't checked all of his combat and casting totals yet (as that's a lot of work when there's a good chance they'll change anyway).

Salutor's grasp of the rules is generally far better than mine, so if there's no objection from that quarter, I'm OK with it.

I have this vague sense that I've seen at least one canonical spell that works even if magi are a little larger than usual.

I concur on this one--he does in effect get more Flaw points, but multiple Personality Flaws still cause the same problems for game play.

Some detailed background would be good--or were you planning that for after the character sheet is finalized?

Lost me already. Not sure if I was only repeating myself, but I do think I had good points why mundane blindness and supernatural senses do not necessarily conflict with one another. There was no further response to that thread...

For Caecus this was pretty defining my picture of him, hence I kept arguing. It was the first thing I picked after deciding on House and that he is going to be a Seeker.

Anyway, I wish you all the best. I might come back later, if there is still a lab available...

Max spell level = Int (1) + Magic Theory (4 - inventing spells) (5) + 3 = 9 + T + F. You are correct as I have used Sta not Int for the calc. Sorry, will redo spells and or arts
Total 3 personality flaws. Not my interpretation but happy to change one out.
Fire resistance - good spot, will change.
Overspend on XP. I agree, my spreadsheet has an error in it. Will re arrange abilities and/or arts.
Wound range - good spot, will change.
Meddler - typifies the action of Prometheus, I also think it will be fun or fatal.
Favours to old covenant. This is to the whole group of Magi who are dedicated to protecting the tribunal and I expect they will call on him to also do so. It also reflects that his Parens was particularly stupid and the other magi took pity on Wishbone and "helped out" during his apprenticeship hence him avoiding the Weak Parens flaw.

Back to the drawing board!

Hmm. Good question, to which I cannot remember the answer now. I don't think it's technically legal, and given the way talking to faeries works, not really required by her background. I'll change it.

I agree Meddler is a good fit for Prometheus. The fire resistance seems a bit more tenuous (yes, he's associated with stealing fire, but that's not quite the same thing), but I haven't got any better ideas.

I wouldn't get hung up on the legality if it made sense. If she were raised in a faerie regio, I'd be willing to buy that that the fae spoke Classical Greek (even if they're reflections of reality, they might well hang onto an ancient reality, or at least give the appearance of doing so).

I think he looks pretty much okay now (although I still haven't checked all the combat totals) - my only comments are that he's still got a +6 Overconfident trait which you may wish to tone down / replace now he's lost the associated major personality flaw and that (from a character effectiveness point of view) he's not actually making that much use of his high CrIg score and reduced fatigure risk from Mythic Blood. Are you sure you don't want Ball of Abysmal Flame? Pilum of Fire isn't going to reliably down someone in one shot, especially if they're armoured. Obviously the downside is that it's quite a lot of spell levels, and it's likely to be easier to pick up later (although the covenant doesn't have it) than some of the things you'd have to drop to fit it in.

I agree that Ball of Abysmal Flame is very useful and would give him more stopping power vs mundane animals and creatures. I will drop two of InVi spells and the Demons Eternal Oblivion.

The Titans where renowned for being able to change their size as I remember. Would a variant of Preternatural Growth and Shrinking (Main rules page 131) be a better fit than Resist Fire? MuCo (AnTe) Base 3, +1 Touch, +2 Sun, +1 because the spell allows growth or two kinds of shrinking, +1 Size, +2 requisites) requisites would be for worn and carried equipment (Animal for leather clothing, Terram for sword and armour)

It's certainly more interesting than resisting fire.

I think you are right.

It also has the advantage that it isn't something you can easily replicate with your Arts - you're not that far off just being able to cast the ReIg ward, whereas learning to cast a MuCo(An)(Te) 30 spell would require a significant diversion from the character's main interests.

I agree. I will make the change now. Thanks for the input.

I have used the book spell with the following changes

  1. Touch to personal (-1)
  2. Affect size +2 (+1)
  3. Double book effect (+1, -2 to +2, -4) (+1)
  4. Two requisites (+2)

Can I have your OK to those changes please. Not sure on 3) and 4) so input very welcome.
