Moving Forward...
Richeaux will take the documents to Fleur for safekeeping and copying I presume? Then he will bring them to the Iberian Tribunal meeting come Autumn. Meanwhile, Jebrick will guard Terah.
Is that the plan?
Yes, but it is an important point that only Terah and Rilcheaux know about the sending of the documents, and she is suppose to imply that they have been stolen by one of the groups that was interested in them, so they will be looking at each other to figure out where they are,
I am working on what these documents are, as the idea fascinates me. So we understand what we are dealing with and to know why certain mystery groups seek to silence this knowledge, I will explain what I am imagining. And as always, I am open to suggestion.
There are seven tractati on Magic theory, all low quality (Q5), yet each one in succession imparts knowledge of one of his Breakthroughs. These are...
- A Minor Breakthrough teaching an inferior form of Craft Magic in the form of a pair of new Spell Parameters; Dose (Delay/Expiry); the spell is held in an object for a limited time before it Expires and becomes inert, and when activated there is a slight delay before it takes effect.
- Another Minor Breakthrough in the form of a new Spell Mastery Ability that allows a magus to incorporate Casting Objects into the spell. This is similar to Potent Magic and Spell Foci, and the effects may be combined.
- A Major Breakthrough! Alarcon has integrated Vulgar Alchemy into the fabric of standard Hermetic Magic. Anyone who studies this will now understand this process and anyone he teaches Magic Theory to and/or reads Magic Theory books he later writes, will also absorb this knowledge. This new wisdom will spread rapidly once released. Those who already know Vulgar Alchemy as a Mystery or latter learn it as such, learn an advanced and simplified variation.
- The next idea seems a little wonky, and I rate it as a Minor Breakthrough. Call it Vis Alchemy. The amount of vis one may use in the Lab equals Magic Theory times two, OR Magic Theory times Magic Lore (or appropriate other Realm). Further, Lab Specializations add to this limit when matching.
- I need three more ideas. At least one that really freaks out one or more cults by revealing a major secret.
Jebrick proteckts Terah, Rich protects the documents, and Fedora (?) spreads misinformation?
Yes. As she will be spending time at a lot of the covenants, and especially mingling at the upcoming Tribunal meeting, the chance for well-placed words in the right ears should abound.
what about a breakthrough that allows something like the periapt horoscope to e used for non-charged enchantments?
The breakthrough would to integrate the standard way with regular Hermetic Magic. The Mystery method would then become the advanced way.
So anyways, I would like to say that, with all of this, the route is complete. You have delivered and picked up packages along the way, and it is now time to return with your delivery to Barcelona.
I award to Fedora and Richeaux: 10 free xp and 2xp bonus devoted to Iberia Lore. Jebrick doesn't have a character sheet yet
All participants, including Jebrick, are awarded 4 points of Fortune.
What would be Sam's resistance score as a potential agent?
Fédora will put 5 points into Intrigue (to allow her to spread the misinformation), 3 points into Occitan (raising her score to 4), and 2 points into Leadership.
9?
Could you break that down? The method for generating the score would be HOH:S p. 143
On a train. Minor virtue & flaw cancel out. Then the bottom list. Three things from there and the +6 for having three things from that list. The rules are unfamiliar so i am not sure if you want high or low. Or what the result would be.
.if you wanna handwave it, just say you find sam some work in barcelona through redcap connections and call sam a social contact.
The whole point of starting this adventure was to recruit an agent in Barcelona- I will have 12 points towards recruitment from this adventure, and probably 5 points from providing their residence to start them up in Barcelona. The only reason to want a high resistance is if it makes the character more useful as an agent- I figured he has 1 for minor social virtue(mercenary captain), either underlings for +1 or many underlings for +3, and maybe busybody for another +1- which would put him at resistance of 5, which with 17 points would convert from resistance of 5 to bond score of +1(1), or resistance of 3 for a final bond score of +3
I will recalculate
I still come up with 9. Without revealing the exact character sheet, all I can do is stand by that number.
resistance 9 means that 17 points will reduce his resistance to 7, which means I need to generate another 28 points to effectively recruit him as an agent, or another 2-3 stories that provide help to him...
so anyone want to run the Iberian Tribunal?
I do believe that this is all resolved and leads into a different story down the road?
That sounds about right, at least as far as Fédora's concerned.
