New players here. We are very confused by the Died Without Cares card. How can it kill the person if you need to have a negative self-worth score to kill the character?

I believe that a character must be negative in order to receive an Untimely Death, but if that Death then changes the character's stats, that is OK. So, Died Without Cares is a great way to kill a very gloomy character of your opponent's, since it simultaneously erases his points.
