Fan Grimoire?

I think I finally remembered and found the spells for my most important comments. So I tried to recreate them, and I made a note in one place where I know someone else had commented before me and it didn't get copied over.

Some comments for "Music for the Earthly Remains" didn't make it, attempting to grab them and move them over.

EDIT: Done
More EDIT: Found another one, from Racoon for "Sense of all Ills" and added it over. It is painful to track them down and so I can really only do it for comments I know should be there. Any made between the last time I looked at the document yesterday and this morning I will most likely not be able to find.

Due to the loading times, I admit I got in the habit of doing my responses by email through google, but that was sending comments to the old doc. When I realized there was a new one I moved into that - much faster, but a small number of comments went to the old doc.

I stopped doing new commenting and have been hunting hard for the orphaned comments since I think I am the only one without much loading times issues. Have restored several of Raccoonmask's and Callen's comments along with a couple of mine.

EDIT: And I think I got them all. Looks like there is no longer any orphaned comments as long as no one post a new one to the old doc.

Did a push to finish my thoughts on PeCo, and will probably do a review of Auram again tomorrow.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, as many times as need be...

I can't share the comments on this doc file, or files, but I truly say that with the team that volunteered, I am humbled by their discussions on spell design, and I hope that it makes me better at it in the future.

It will be a long while till this product gets finished (the reviews are just part of the process), since we also need to make sure it's all grammatically correct, and I'd need to do the layout (But the layout template is mostly ready, and I think I've finished tweaking the cover page).

Am starting to think about writing the preface.

I am starting to see a creeping increase of "+1 Flexibility", which is not explicitly explained in the rules. Looking through all the core spell, there is no "Flexibility" modifier used (it could be an addition that appears in Soucebooks though ?).

This is the list of non-base modifiers I found, that are not part of any explicit Guideline (some TeFo combat have some additional modifiers that I did not list here since they are TeCo specific):
Special effect +1
No words +2
Intelligible speech +1
No gesture +1
Complex effect +1
Elaborate design +3 (in fact, this one is described in CrTe for elaborate shape).
Fancy effect +2

So, I am proposing that we avoid to add "+1 Flexibility" in the spells we are reviewing as it will set an annoying precedent or we reframe the spell description for what level of freedom is allowed.
Elaborate design for CtMT is fine - it will always be a tower of set dimensions, only the inside changes, but I would not like to see a similar spell that could do a square house, a round tower or a pyramid.

"Flexibility" was introduced way back when in Covenants, used in both The Mystical Carpenter (p.51) and The Phantom Blacksmith (p.51). It was later (still way back) used in Hermetic Projects with The Unseen Shipwright (p.64).

Flexibility is as Callen noted an actual published modifier. While you will not have seen all of them since you came on later, I tend to note changing the text of modifiers to different ones. Typically the ones listed for that TeFo.

They got better at writing them in the Sourcebooks in a more consistent style.

I'd like to have a final glance at Au/Aq and then push the unfinished ones to 'review later'.

Hit the first teleport spell and thought I would ask how we want to handle them. Add a note about it only affecting clothing, not equipment? A note about casting requisites possibly be required by some groups?

A related aside, my group allows a way to get around requisites by making the Target move super fast rather than teleport. This still results in instant but the total distance that would be traveled is limited by the Base and you can't get places you could not moving at normal speed. Will make a separate thread for this.

I think since the game books explicitly leaves the decision whether or not to require casting requisites for personal teleport spells to troupe, so should the grimoire.

I am proposing that at the beginning of some TeFo, a short paragraph is added to tackle guidelines or spells where troupe discussion is encouraged.
And we take a more restrictive approach, leaving room for "enhancement" by troupe approval.
For example:
Individual is define as a person and her clothing and if a maga, her talisman. It does not include what she is carrying in a bag or a backpack. Any individual, not matter how small is not affected. The familiar is also affected, but with the same restriction (only his clothing and nothing else he is carrying).

This is only a proposal, so pitch your take.

I would ignore it and let TME speak the volumes it speaks. Let troupes decide on their own based on what books like TME say. Let's stay out of it as best we can.

Sounds good to me, less work we have to do.

Wow, ReCo alone is something close to 10 pages! All of Corpus was close to 30 pages, a bit shorter now that many early ones have been moved over. It's not surprising that Corpus is so huge. I forget what the original total was, though. Finishing our 4th Form, and that perhaps the largest of them all, we've got to be getting close to the halfway point!

Yep, I do believe Corpus was the largest Form. Animal is probably the second largest.

As a reminder, thumbs up/down go on the TeFo. I had two of my comments on the Title that were hidden behind a thumbs up and so had to move them so that they could be clicked on.

Yup. I had one or two where I went to comment and the name had already been used for a thumb. I put my comment in the TeFo instead with the name used up. But the name is so helpful when receiving comments via email.

There are plenty of spells I read the comments, but didn't dare move, because there's no thumps up/down.
