Flipping the classroom

Ah, but how effective are they against Cornish pixies? Troublesome little buggers, they are.

Question (which I might have missed): are the teachers responsible for setting up their classrooms/teaching laboratories (two seasons, more if they need Refinement), or is that done for us?

The teaching labs are +1 in size and setup as standard labs. Any additional refinement and improvement is up to the teacher.

Jebrick brought up an obvious point that I had thought of, but never mentioned. All of the classes have books for each student in the class. It's the responsibility of the teacher to hand them out. Some may want to wait a bit before handing them out, of course.
The books are the property of the school, and students will have to pay to replace them if they are damaged...

Since we have not heard from Renimar in several weeks, Clement will be teaching the Hermetic Instruction. Same time so no need for anyone other than Clement to change their planning. I am updating Clement's planning in his thread.

Thinking of some items for field trips and excursions.

I haven't put much thought into a mode of travel that we could use, we could make a much bigger project for that perhaps. Two things that came to mind were a portable hourse (or larger). CrTe with an He requisite and make a decent sized and sturdy structure that could both house say up to 20 people with proper amenities as well as a proper classroom. When done it shrinks down into a portable toy sized item. I'm thinking of giving it a Sun duration but also an effect so as not to flicker. I want to put a quirk or two in it, but Fabricus is averse to risk; he won't experiment.

Another item is a folding doorway that can be expanded and when walked through allows people to easily pass through a regio for either a magic or faerie aura. I believe he knows a variant on Piercing the Faerie Glen for magic, plus the faerie one. Essentially this would provide that effect on a group. BY making it an item he takes away the chance of forgetting a method or children not following directions.

Any other ideas for field trip type items?

I had thought of inventing a group "Leap of Homecoming" just for the class and teachers. Thus not causing warping. Then it should not be hard to make another spell for each new class.

There isn't an expectation that field trips have to go far and wide, indeed, it's going to be problematic if you go for an extended duration. Keep in mind that the effects of the Gift will become pronounced during a field trip and you'll see students get into fights. Field trips need to be well chaperoned, and possibly coordinated with all instructors.

ooo! Ooo! Mr Kottah!

Howsabout a weightless chariot/cart/carriage to strap to Fiona's Pegasaurus?

Just noticed (or, rather, it just sunk in) that we don't have a Flora et Fauna teacher. Do you want that to be an NPC, or can I volunteer Fiona for that class?

We should be okay (at least with respect to the students) if the professors cover them with their parma magica, right? Shouldn't that shield them from the deleterious effects of the Gift?

Can it walk on giant chicken legs? Please, that would be so cool!

Covering students with Parma requires maintaining sight range. You see them, or they see you works. It will shield them from deleterious effects of the Gift, but it will also leave magi vulnerable to more penetrating magics.

Someone might get jealous.

I honestly was giving this option some thought before it was brought up, it definitely would fit into a magical school I think.

All fun and games until Baba Yaga shows up with a trademark lawsuit.

This.

She doesn't sue.

Yea, she goes straight to collecting damages ...

I'm working on the curriculum for the 2nd year, and I wanted to get everyone's input.

Term 2
Elective in place of class on Techniques.
I'm thinking of making 2 elective classes.
One for Finesse and Penetration another for Concentration, Artes Liberales and Philosophiae. I'm open to suggestions and recommendations. Clement doesn't have to necessarily teach an elective class, and now every teacher is going to be teaching at least two classes.

I think I have said this before, but part of the professors' job in the first year is to draft the curriculum for the second year and later years. So, professors are always busy despite it appearing that they get busier as the school adds students for each year.
