Soo question how much vis do we net for personal source, when picked for the year.
As I stated earlier, a personal vis source will be 8 vis per year.

Orion would be happy to lend the covenant 6 Vi vis for Evangelos to cast the Aegis, to be repaid as soon as the covenant harvests its own vis.
As of the last count of build points, the covenant had 5 pawns of Vim vis in its stocks. So a single pawn would need to be borrowed to be able to cast a level 30 Aegis. Maximilian would have been willing to lend it as well if necessary.
I'm assuming that this would have been done in the Spring as well, right after the Council Meeting.
I think it is fair to assume everyone was able to get together last winter, probably before everyone rushed off to the council meeting together. Some of the then apprentices may have to have tokens the first year if they couldn't make the ceremony.

So Gabriel is making it clear to the magi that he is of supernatural origin? I thought it was part of his Dark Secret, although less to the magi than to the populace at large.
Just trying to gauge the implications of him participating in the Aegis. For example, Christophoros will certainly take note of the fact that Gabriel was a participant and draw some conclusions from it.
It's a trade off, participate in the ritual or require a token, either way the magi will know. Though come to think of it, he might first propose all covenfolk be involved.
Just so I make sure I'm on the right page. We probably have over a hundred people at the covenant. Is that correct?
Right now I have 65 people- 7 magi, 2 companions (economically), 8 grogs (warriors), 2 craftsmen, 4 specialists, 13 servants, 27 laborers, 2 teamsters Once we start some adventures to recruit more craftsmen, specialists (for example, teachers), and so on those numbers are likely to go up. They also do not include shepherds, or anyone involved with the scriptorium.
Ah, I I had the numbers wrong in my calculations. It must have been from when our ambitions were greater. 
I just checked, and Orion will have to trade some Creo vis to get the one Vim vis he's giving to the covenant.

Maximilian has 1 pawn of Vim vis left from a previous trade, so he could lend it to the covenant for the short time it takes to harvest one of our source.
If we need creo vis, Aureliano keeps himself a good stock of the stuff...good value and good for you know things like putting arms back together and the like.
Newbie question: I presume that the story xp should be spent in some way that is relevant to the story?

It can be spent on what is relevant to the story or on what was being done in the 'background', and may be foregone in favor of those activities if so desired. For example, Anastasia was studying Magic theory with a SQ of 11, and her story has a SQ of 6, so she could easily decide to stick with the 11 SQ for her reading and take the exchange of abilities and the confidence from the story. Meanwhile Petre was exploring the area for 5xp in area lore, he can take the 6 xp from the story and put 5 into area lore and 1 into faerie lore, or folk ken (as he got to know Anastasia), or another related ability. If he prefers he could put al 6 into story related abilities and develop his area lore at another time.

Also as an FYI, if Petre teaches Anastasia to talk to animals before her arts are opened she could learn the ability readily.
the only kicker with supernatural abilities is it makes the apprentice harder to open...and the more neat thigns you have the harder it is to keep it without damaging it. Just keep that fun stuff in mind...its one of the great bennies of starting off with stuff on a magi char, otherwise the lab total to open it is oppressive.
Hmm, if she learns the Ability, it's an InVi LT of 10 to open her arts and an InVi LT of 20 to preserve the ability. Even with his Deficiency in Intelligo, Orion can just make that LT.
If Petre were willing, Anastasia would happily spend Autumn learning Animal Ken.
Heck, if we could convince Aureliano to spend a season teaching her Second Sight, she could learn that too!
Aureliano could and would teach something like that, however, things do come with a price. Also Ana has minor fairie blood, thats something else that adds to the cracking total.
