General GM Question

Ok, I'm not totally sure about the best way to go about this so I figured I'd post it here and see what you guys think.

What is the best way to deal with a character (NPC) that lies to the PC's?

I've had no problem dealing with characters that just don't give information or omit details, but for the new story I'm prepping, part of it involves a character that out and out lies to the PC's at one point. Eventually they will find out the truth but I just wanted to make sure I don't make the players feel like I (as the GM) am lying to them (as the players).

Anything I should watch out for?

Thanks much, guys.

You are not the NPC he is an actor in your game. They lie they steal, they kill PCS all the time. whether its an Orc or a Human spy.
it could be a bar maid who thinks your good looking enough to sleep with you for 2gps or or the bartender telling you about a place for a job and you show up then get robbed after which your most likey dead and then he gets his cut of the loot for sending them there.
