General Table Talk

Aren't lab texts useless to other magi until the original author spends a season 'translating' them from his personal shorthand into formal Latin?

Yeah, that just hit me too. And unfortunately Solomon has no time to do the translating.

What does that have to do with anything? Adan probably isn't going either.

When you said 'came along', I assumed you meant on the City of Brass mission.

I realized that latter
I meant as in he would join the staff under your authority, make him work as a specialist scribe.

Point of Confidence for Fedora

Oh yeah? Well I cast "Summon Bigger Fist"!

Which was a freudian slip, so I suppose I am punching fish

I have a question about gaining a new virtue. I've read the rules about gaining virtues, but as it's been over twenty years since I took differential equations, I don't entirely understand them. Lucas did not get a new virtue last cycle. How would he go about acquiring one in the current cycle, assuming he had a reasonable story reason to justify it?

Initiation is one way. Magic Realm Adventures another. I can fiddle with things maybe. What is your intention?

I was thinking of thinking of trying to get Second Sight, since it's one of the abilities my familiar has (and fits in with the whole keen vision hawk thing). I was thinking that somehow the bond between them makes Lucas more susceptible to learning the ability.

When you reach a Magc Theory of 6, we can talk about that idea.
Or you can hope for a good Twilight effect

BTW, I know you changed things so that House Mercere has more than 12 gifted magi. How many are there currently? I'm just curious.

Good morning everyone
I woke up this morning with a horrible toothache, went straight to the dentist and had them pull it (my tooth cracked in half last week). Though it hurt like an SOB, and I knew it would, I was just so desperate to get it extracted from my face that I figured that this pain would be a delight by comparison. And it was. Or is rather. Just slept off some of the novacaine and I feel great. No painkillers for this guy. And in the course of waiting, I finished my Ebook (The Quest for El Cid, 1989 Richard Fletcher). Very good book, highly suggested by yours truly. It shattered some isslusions about Spanish history, confirmed many thruths, and taught me many new things.

As for House Mercere, I esitimate they have around two-dozen gifted magi. Also keep in mind that the stats you read are for 1220, and it is now fourteen years latter in 1234.

Speaking as someone with something like ten crowns and about as many root canals (I've long since lost count), I feel your pain.

I glad to hear you're feeling better. Chronic tooth pain is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Thanks. That's what I seemed to recall you saying earlier. But I wanted to make certain I had it right.

Does anyone know if there is any problem with the registry process in invisible castle? They do not seem to be sending me a confirmation email despite what they say...

So for the time being I do need a die roller.

Updating the salt wyrm thread tomorrow.

I think they've quit supporting it. But, you can still use the dice roller there, even without an account.

When I tried to use IC, it wouldn't let me record a roll without an account and wouldn't send an email to let me set up the account. When I tried again it told me that my account name was used now, but that my password was wrong. From my perspective the site is FUBAR.
