General Table Talk

What, here? Not in, say, General Tabletalk? Ok.

I control Antoine (magus) and Bernat (companion). There is also Isolde (not yet statted). I have made and control no grogs.

my mistake. I have fixed it

I have made Fleur (magus), Donna (companion), Marcus (companion), Bartholomew (grog), Yanni (grog), and Adan (grog)

Fausto has been added to the teachers page.

I have Vocis (magus), Pere (magus), Liberto (Vocis's grog), Gerard (Vocis's grog), Teodor (Pere's grog), Barzin (Pere's grog), Fausto (grog/specialist), Amada (specialist), and Nicasi (specialist).

I'm also 'managing' Micaela, so I guess she could count as my companion character. There's also Vocis's wife Amelia and a couple grandkids in Andorra, but they're not statted. Pere's family only exists to give him something to complain about.

Hey everybody, sorry for the disappearing act

Life has been a bit hectic, and will continue to be for about another week or so, but should clear up considerably. I'll try to jump on tomorrow and catch up.

No worries. I have been distracted as well. Not only my problems (which suck the massive one), but also worried about some friends. I could write a whole freaking soap opera of seven seasons with the drama that goes down in the club.
This is why I seek solace in Ars Magica

As you may have noticed, as every end of the year, I'm making myself scarce :frowning: Still here, but swamped in work, so don't be surprised if I take time.

I have Lucas (magus), Petrus (Lucas's shield grog), Andre (Lucas's manservant grog), and maybe Cicilia (companion), if she's approved.

Arachné (Magus)
Melantha (spirit companion)
Intissar (Familiar)

I always forget someone can play melantha. I love her.

Apropos of absolutely nothing at all. The Ansteorra Heralds' List gave me this story, recently uncovered in the Vatican archives, of Portuguese pirates in 1357 who seized a ship carrying a late bishop's treasure to Avignon (where the Pope was living at the time, because Italian politics was too scary for them at the time).

The captain of one of the ships was an Antonio "Botafoc". "Botafoc" means either "Fire blast" or "Fire fart".

And, for some reason, I wondered if this might be one of Roberto's descendants.

The whole story.

I dunno. Sounds like one of Vibria's potential descendants. She belches fire, he farts. The math says it all

Even better! (I don't know why she didn't occur to me.)

Now all we need to do is find her some nice Portuguese gent to settle down with )

You just inspired me to craft a new NPC

Hey all, sorry for the dissappearing act over the last couple of weeks, but I'm back to a (decent) schedule again and ready to get back to it. I'm catching up tonight and will be posting Solomon's stirring motivational speech 8) tomorrow for the City of Brass, as well as getting the Sa Dragonera expedition back on track.

Most excellent and groovy 8)

Pere is interested in finding and bonding a Barbary ape as a familiar. It appears there are several side stories in the queue, plus CoB is starting, so I'm wondering if I should just assign a season to his search and leave it at that. Marko?

Depends on how you want to do it, and what you want out of it. If we just wave it, there are hard limit standards to follow. If you make a story of it, I would be inclined to allow for greater potential.
Is a hidden magical city of intelligent apes too cliche?

I was leaning toward traveling the Med and 'recruiting' one away from its merchant owner. Barbary apes actually just monkeys (macaques, to be precise), not apes. I'm looking for one for Pere mostly for the entertainment value. Take a look at the sidebar in RoP:M on Apes of Virtue. Pere needs a social foil like that.

If not, can we make him a hyper-intelligent simian bent on world domination? (I'm thinking Grodd.)
