It is still in the discussion phase, but the idea is that your sheet would atually be posted to the forums. It would also be nice if we used similar formatting, but everyone's sheet could stand to have some of the clutter cleaned up.

Well, as I told you, this is on purpose, so as to avoid showcasing another player.
If, for exemple, we had a Mentem specialist and I had lots of powerful mentem effects, this would reduce his usefulness and make him redundant or worse, useless.
The same thing goes for combat items: The magi should shine by their own, not because some NPC item was handed down to them or, worse, to some NPC grog.
I had plans for some "flawed" combat items (limited charges, uses or else, so as to avoid the aforementionned problems) but I lacked the time for this.
Oh, I changed my mind about that. I was just taunting and teasing you, trying to motivate you guys into action, and I got carried away :mrgreen:
Maybe someday I will get to level of combat effectiveness but Ameline is just not suited for battle focus. YOu want a warrior, then get Valentino with his 9 parma or 45 + form magic resistance and high attack skills. Even 18-20 years out of apprenticeship isn't that powerful. Not like the 40-80 years out of apprenticeship.
Valentino has become like Inigo, a cool character that never plays. I would rather have player characters with active players.
Ameline is fine. She has an angel that works for her and is something i can work with.
And I am still open to someone running a story. You guys mentions some of the strange things you are interested in like Cathars, a topic I have no desire to run a story about. If you want to get involved with Cathars, then take it upon yourself to design and run such a story. I will help you along if need be, and will even play in it (assuming you guys rescue Carmen, who is my only personal PC in this game).
ACtually, Ameline's angel does not help her at all. He nags her, he chastises her, he tests her. He doesn't help her.
Ah the wonders of having flaws.
Winds of soaring flight and then conc rolls to cast other spell and risking falling is dangerous. Better to use spell that you know will keep you up (longer than conc duration and start the 7 league stride stunt. It works even better with eyes of the hawk or eyes of the eagle to make sure you can see 7 miles.
Oh, I'd say that Ameline's Guardian Angel helps her--in the long run. Even with her Faith it is still extremely useful to have a direct line to accurate (for her Faith) "moral guidance". Annoying as anything, but if she listens she can be about as certain as anyone of her Salvation and ticket to a Divine eternity.
Unlike Vares, who sees too many contradictions to follow any of the Faiths, and who is much more interested in finding his own way to an immortality that doesn't leave him in the thrall of the Dominion. If he "heard" a Guardian Angel he'd start arguing with it, challenging it to describe the Divine in definitive, irrefutable terms instead of being a patronising moral control freak.

And if Vares really want a confrontation and debate with a divine messenger, that can be arranged 
Doesn't quite work that way. He is often silent when she might wish guidance to force her to have to operate on her own. At times, appears to chastise her afterwards, will lead her into situations where she will be tempted or harmed to be sure her faith remains strong. He is not the guardian angel virtue but plagued by supernatural entity. Think more like what happened to Jonah.
Oooh. Yes, Plagued By Supernatural Entity (Angel) is very, very different. If it weren't for Ameline's Faith, I'd suggest some kind of Ward to keep it for being too annoying.
It would depend on the exact agency that Vares encountered, and how it presented itself. There is, after all, always the possibility that it is an Infernal entity in disguise.
It is probably clear by now I don't really have the time needed for this game. I thought I would, but as it turns out I don't - not in any regular way, at any rate.
But I've been here long enough to witness the problem that players leaving without notice create to those who stay, so I'd like to ask what would you guys have me do? Would you like me to perhaps get involved with the current chapter suicidal-like so that if (when, considering his stats) Txatxu dies you have one less problem to worry over? Or would you like me to just think of some reason why he would leave so soon after being granted membership? Or a third option?
I really don't want to cause problems to you guys, so I'll do my best cover my holes with dirt before I'm gone.

The excuse for their entry could be Vares idea of sending for help and allies via the Redcaps.
It certainly seems feasible. Accepted members of the Covenant could be off on their own expeditions, and when the call is issued help could take several different forms. Most likely those with contact/contracts/agreements with Houses Mercere and/or Flambeau, though Verditius is conceivable. Note that that wouldn't have to be members of these Houses, only have sufficiently close dealings to account for their response.
Hi folks. I responded in the players need thread but I thought I would also stop by down here and check it. I was interested in joining your story. I love Ars have been playing it since the original White Wolf version of the game, but my regular face to face group doesn't appreciate the finer points of the game and thus doesn't play it. So I have been hunting for a PbP Ars game to get my fix taps the main vein, so hopefully this game might be the one. Like I said in the looking for players thread I would be interested in playing a Jerbiton that I have had kicking around in my head, but would be willing to make any character needed for the story. I have most of the 5th ed books so I know the new system pretty well.
I have never actually been a part of a PbP game, but I am an aspiring writer so I believe that I will have no problems with the medium. So just either post here and let me know what you folks want to do, or you can PM to keep your OOC thread cleaner if you want. I must say that the amount of posts in your little part of the forum is encouraging for a great story! So as I said, let me know what kind of character you guys are looking for and I will get one done!

Welcome, Philosopherp. I'm also a very long-time fan of "Ars Magica", with my interest and background dating back to Late 2nd/3rd Edition. You'll find that I love 4th but rail repeatedly against serious revisions to canon in 5th Ed. This game has many references back to earlier edititions in terms of background (not game mechanic) material. If you know "Mistridge", that could come in useful, as the Andorra Covenant is less than 21 miles from Mistridge, making it the nearest Covenant.

I'm another new face from Marko's recruitment drive. I only started Ars during 4th edition, but I think I know the system fairly well. Individual tribunals less so tho 
From what Marko said in the recruitment thread, I'm looking to play a Legion of Mithras character (though I havent read sub rosa 3 and marko's article...), but as a perdo specialist - however, if you already have such a character active, I'll do something different.
