Here's a Chirurgeon for the covenant. I liked the idea of having a super old type but with Unaging, so she still looks twenty-five. It fits with the concept that a lot of covenants are giving up grogs with supernatural abilities to serve the magi in the powerful Aura.

Granny Grizel, Chirurgeon

When Grizel was born eighty years ago, no one had any idea that she was somehow touched by magic. That only became clear when she reached her thirties and people began to notice that she was not aging past her twenties. The people in her village chased her out, calling her a witch. She was very fortunate that her husband stood beside her, coming with her into exile and keeping the villagers from doing anything rash. Eventually they found the covenant of Glen Airgead where Grizel was accepted for what she was. She raised three children there, two of which inherited her gift, and stayed with her husband until he died at the age of 68. Since her husband died, Grizel, who everyone calls Granny Grizel or just Granny, despite the fact that she looks to be in her mid-twenties, apprenticed with the local chirurgeon, taking over when she died a few years back.

Barclay Stewart, Teacher

Born in Edinburgh and taught at a church school, Barclay was raised to be pious and temperate. He was recruiteed by Glen Airgead when he was in his late twenties where he has served as a teacher for the grogs, magi, and apprentices ever since.

He has an apparent age lower than his actual age because of the aging bonuses for Glen Airgead and some very lucky rolls.

If we stick him in the magic realm with his max class size (50 students) that would be 1100 vis in a season...

Somehow I don't see that happening. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it might attract attention too. I mean 1100 vis? You're all getting eaten.

Tomas was born with the Gift and taken as an apprentice in the Stonehenge Tribunal. When he was twelve, however, his Gift faded, as it sometimes does, leaving him only with a sensitivity to magic. Since he was already trained to read and write Latin, he was taken on as a scribe for the covenant, occasionally serving as a lab assistant. When he heard that a new covenant was looking for grogs able to withstand a powerful magical aura (and heard the rumors that it was on Atlantis), he jumped at the chance to go.

Peter is a large jolly man who loves to drink and loves to gossip. He was happy to discover years ago that while he can certainly get drunk, he has never suffered from any of the ill effects of alcohol, even on the many times he's drunk to excess. This fascinated one of the magi at his previous covenant who looked into the matter and discovered that Peter's immunity was magical in origin.

The great-granddaughter of Granny Grizzel, Isobel is currently acting as a page to help the steward of the covenant. The hope is that she will train with him as she gets older

Niall MacAllen, a merchant

Year: Winter 1220

Role: Merchant
Background: Niall is the son of Granny Grizel, and inherited her supernatural ability to resist aging. She worked hard to bring him up in the world, getting him apprenticed to the weaver at the covenant. Over the years, he proved able in helping with selling and trading, and he began to act as much merchant as weaver. Now, at New Atlantis, he's started a second career as a just plain merchant, sailing with the Tremere ships and helping to get supplies for the covenant. His daughter is married to [[[Kendric | Kendric Sinclair]]], and he is the grandfather to [[[Isobel Sinclair]]].

Renard the Beekeeper

Renard is a humble man who doesn't talk very much on account of a terrible stutter. But he does hum, and when he does, he can speak to the bees. As such, he talks to his bees far more than he talks to people. He has a beautiful singing voice, and strangely enough, when he sings, his stutter completely goes away.

Ignado was a happy child, until his family was killed between the Muslims fighting the evil Christians and the Christians fighting the evil Muslims. He headed for the wilderness for safety, and found an abandoned temple of Pan where he stayed for shelter. Eventually he began to revere Pan as a father figure, and eventually worship him. He can pretend to be Christian, or muslim, as the local population does depending on who rules at a given time, but still not attend services as many who give a thin veneer of lip service to the other faith manage. His stigmatas and supernatural abilities all belong to the magical realm, which is where his worship of pan is grounded as well.

What covenant does Ignado come from? All of the grogs that make up the covenant of New Atlantis come from other covenants in the Order. No one was recruited from the general population.

I wrote him to be discovered (hopefully) by Meliai

In 1220 Father Augustus will be exiting his current home and moving to Atlantis, and bringing his family and members of his flock who are interested in following.
Two questions - is a small complement of follower excluding his dependents reasonable and how many do you want them written up or just named?

A small complement is reasonable. Say 3-5 followers.

Named is fine. We can write them up if they're needed.

OK, here goes, Father Augustus initial flock, in addition to his family.

  • Eion & Beitris Meikle, & kids. Eion is a shepherd.
  • Edith White, young unmarried servant.
  • Keitha MacEwan, widow, once fisherwoman and weaver.
  • Rab Lennox, middle years granger and crofter.

Where will they live? At the covenant? Near the church (wherever that gets built)?

At the covenant while the the church gets built and then move there. I think that would make sense.
