Inchmore Covenant - Draft Charter & Discussion

Nothing is set in stone here. This is just a draft that @Nithyn have been discussing and now are opening to general input and feedback.

I don't really like the title of Rector for instance.

Feel free to write with red ink and don't be shy about it.

Just finished a first pass over the charter.

Atheus would object to "must at all times be true to the Oath of Hermes, must obey the Peripheral Code of the Tribunal of Hibernia" on the basis that this doesn't need to be stated, as all magi swear the Oath, and agree to follow the Peripheral Code by living in the Tribunal (but really, he just wants to make sure that if he breaks the law he isn't also breaking the charter).

I think the second part (allowing to scry) is a bit edgy, as it means we are forfeiting, under unclear conditions, a right clearly stated in the Oath. If I was the responsible Quaesitor I'd say this is not legally binding, as we can't (shouldn't) have a charter allowing something the code forbids. It might be different if the condition to scry was clear cut instead of subject to the council vote.

Keeping an AC in the covenant seems reasonable at first, but if it won't be used, what for? And, is the Covenant capable of taking responsibility in case the AC is misused or stolen/lost?

All in all, I think this is better removed.

Maybe in the event of imminent danger to the magus in question, and or the covenant?

I think this would really require folks to trust one another to a degree that I’m not sure is realistic this early on. Later potentially. And yeah, definitely open to some potential problems if it were ever to go missing.
